One Of Us, One Of Them

Apparently where I've been posting is not the first ep of the season, and I've been replying to posts from other eps, my apologies. I've caught up now though, and it seems to be getting even more weird.

After the writers strike Tim must've hired people who write for Days of Our Lives or something because now it's more like a soap opera. Sylar is actually Peter and Nathan's brother!? Mrs. Petrelli(?) gives him a woman so he can kill her and take her ability just to feed his alleged sickness, one that he didn't have before he met Dr. Suresh. What kind of sense does that make? I the Five Years Past episode from season one Gabriel stopped gaining power once he had what he thought was enough. That doesn't sound like a sickness to me. So now Sylar can turn metal into gold and yell like Banshee on the X-Men, uh oh run for the hills!

Primatech must not have high standards for who the lock up. The black guy was the only real dangerous person in that group. Also, there seems to be a lot more repition with abilities this season already. Another Issac Mendez; Mohinder's abilities(who didn't see something bad happening there?); Tracy, Nikki's twin/clone, with freezing ability...

Don't get me wrong here, this show is still good, just not as good as before the strike.

From two boards ago...

Triggins: I think she has the dream power that we saw Peter use during the first season.
I think you're right, that makes sense considering how she always seems to be in the know.

gelzyme: If she heals, how is it that she suddenly can't feel anything?
Sorry, I didn't realize until later that you were actually commenting on The Butterfly Effect instead of Villians. That's a good question, one that will probably not be answered until near the end of the season. The same with my question on how Linderman lived, which he didn't but it leads me to another; how did Nathan heal if Linderman didn't do it?

avandelay: I presumed he used his mirage ability to make Peter look like that inmate, if not, what happened to Peter's body?
Evidently it wasn't a mirage because Peter's body and mind were in there somehow. What kind of ability can do that?

It was good to see the Hatian back. Noah mentioned finding Gabriel's weakness and then killing him. Here's a news flash, use the Hatian to suppress his powers, that's his weakness! And after keeping him from his 'obsession' for a while, lobotomize him! Did Sylar go back into a cell when finished with his mission with Noah? Why did Sylar pick Jessie to kill instead of the other? Clearly the black-guy's ability was greater.

I'm gonna take a guess as to how this pans out: In trying to save his present time, future Peter is somehow killed by Sylar, who in turn gets his ability, so now present Peter is the only one who can stop him, and redeem himself in his mother's eyes. Claire learns why she is so special in hunting down these 'villians' but gets somebody killed in the process, like Nathan or her biological mother.

Me: Mrs. Petrelli gives him a woman so he can kill her and take her ability just to feed his alleged sickness, one that he didn't have before he met Dr. Suresh.
I've been watching the first season/volume on DVD, got it as a present, and in one of the first few episodes/chapters Sylar leaves a message on the Doc's answering machine talking about "the hunger" so it was mentioned before, but I still don't see how intuitive aptitude makes a person crave more power, especially since he stopped gaining abilities in the future. It has to be more reliant on personality not ability.
