I think this season is slowly turning around but it's still not all that impressive writing. Elle has a short and goes with Claire to Pineherst; Mr. Petrelli kills Matt's dad; Arthur tells Peter that he stole his powers permanantly; Mohinder is now working for the bad guys, again; Sylar apparently can use his abilities through the sedated/power suppression drugs; and Hiro is on his "spirit walk."

Knox, the guy who grows stronger by feeding off fear from others, is getting very annoying, IMHO. His ability is also pretty lame compared to all the other simple abilities in this show. I suppose I shouldn't expect much from the thugs Arthur is recruiting. Was Noah anywhere in this capter? I don't remember seeing him.

Angela comes to Gabriel in a dream and he tells her his powers are suppressed. Her answer to that is "how do you explain my being here" or something like that. Well Sylar is getting drugged and she is not, cracking into his subconscious shouldn't be a problem for her. Last time he was in Level 5, in season one when he was on his rampage, he couldn't wake up with his ability so why now after he's been taken down a few pegs?

Questions that will be answered later: Why, all of a sudden, are people's abilities not functioning properply, like the two hot blondes'? I'm sure many see Peter as the Hero of the show and now he has no powers. Will he get his original ability back, perhaps after his father finally dies, or, after he's injected with that magic potion, get new/different abilities? Will Elle have her powers taken or will she get them 'fixed' and then work for Mr. Petrelli? Until next week...

Copied from last week's Enternainment Weekly:
Heroes began to feel less like a comic book and more like Falcon Crest. Tracy said it best, when trying to understand Claire's complicated parentage: "He’s the biological father of your illegitimate daughter and you’re the adopted father." Suddenly, everyone on this show is related — and that's just silly.

I couldn't agree more!

It was a short article so I might as well add more:
He [Sylar] was the engine that drove Heroes in the first season, and he was so strong he weathered the ridiculousness of the second season with admirable fortitude... Once Angela and Arthur came into Sylar's life, revealing that he was indeed Gabriel Petrelli, brother to Peter and Nathan, the scourge of the civilized world became an obedient mama's boy... Gabriel has now, essentially, become the pawn/subject of a custody battle.

There was of course more to it, most of the article was about Sylar, but that's pretty much the jist of it. The first season Sylar was definately a character you loved to hate, but I always thought his character was left too vague, namely about his ability(s). That shouldn't be surprising, since it's done all the time to add mystery/suspence, but now especially it seems like there's no coherence to his character, IMO. Happy All Souls Day everyone!
