Isn’t it convenient that despite the Anomaly Detection Device covering the whole of Britain, all the anomalies (so far) all open within handy driving distance of the ARC?

The ADD shuts down before the technician can confirm the exact location of the anomaly. Despite that, Leek demands the coordinates – and the technician obligingly hands him a piece of paper from on top of the folder on the desk!

Why does Nick suggest that the ARC’s PR person goes with them in one of the boats? What use is she going to be out there, apart from the damsel in distress? And why does she agree to go when she can’t even swim?!

Automatic gunfire in Canary Wharf – and the police don’t come running?!

Great line: Lester: “So, to sum up, then, we’re looking for a deadly skin-shedding aquatic predator with a neat line in Charlotte Church impressions. Well, the marketing possibilities are endless!”

Andrew-Lee Potts shines in this episode, especially during Connor’s anguish over the loss of Abby.

The military guy in the boat protests about Stephen sending the mini-sub up the water pipe, thinking that the pipe is too narrow for the sub. Yet later Stephen – who’s skinny, but not that skinny – gets up the pipe with no apparent difficulty.

It’s good to know that the ARC has such a huge budget that it can afford waterproof guns ...

Nick grabbing Connor’s hand was never going to stop Abby’s grip from slipping. Even the producers admit that in the commentary.

Great lines:
Lester: “We’ll start by sealing the anomaly site with a few thousand tons of concrete.”
Leek: “Shall I speak to the contractors?”
Lester: “No, don’t worry. I’ll get myself a shovel and a cement mixer. ... Yes, of course you should speak to the contractors, you idiot!”

Gorgeous final scene between Abby and Connor, and again Andrew is awesome in portraying his awkwardness and embarrassment.

YES! I think that exhcange has got to be the best of the series. Lester sounded so reasonable when he started to say that he would do it himself.

Are the positions of the anomalies going to become significant in later episodes? Maybe they make a pattern? Surely the writers can't have ignored the fact that there have been no outbreaks of strange animal behaviour anywhere else in the country? I think we're going to have a "Primeaval" equivilant of the Hellmouth.
