The baby croc is rather big to flush down the loo, isn’t it? I’m surprised it didn’t get stuck.

James is wonderfully adorable in this episode in the way that he fights for Abby and Connor.

I wondered why Abby and Connor were wearing clothes which were obviously provided by the ARC and what could have happened to their own possessions after the rent ran out on their flat. Then I realised that the only family that we know of is Abby’s brother Jack, who probably sold all their stuff ages ago to fund his gambling habit.

Why does Becker wear body armour inside the ARC?

Lovely moment between Connor and Becker as Connor is leaving the ARC.

It was great to see Lester’s mammoth again, but why is it being kept in the dark?

Why is Rex allowed to fly around inside the mammoth’s pen? Unless the two of them have demonstrated that they’re great friends, Rex could distress it and get himself accidentally trodden on or batted out of the air.

Where are Sid and Nancy?

Does Jess have rich parents, or does the ARC really pay so well that she can afford such a fancy apartment? Mind you, Abby’s original warehouse flat was pretty expensive-looking too and she only worked in a zoo, so working with animals must pay very well indeed. However, Jess is supposed to be only 19, so even if the pay is good she can’t have accumulated that much cash yet.

Duncan appears to be living in an abandoned building. Where’s he getting the electricity from?

Great lines:
Duncan: “How did you find me?”
Connor: “I called your mum.”

Presumably the police knew about the dead homeless people even if they didn’t investigate their deaths (and why didn’t they, if they were torn to pieces?). But how come the ARC never heard about the circumstances of their deaths?

How did Abby persuade the guys in the boat to take her out onto the river?

Apparently they’ve taken my advice and have improved the aim of the EMDs, as Becker has no qualms about shooting the croc while it’s right in front of Matt.

I had to smile ironically as they handed out weapons before heading into the container park, giving all the guys big honkin’ rifles and the girlie a little pistol.

For a kiddies’ show, that was a pretty graphic moment when it was very obvious that the croc bit the soldier’s head off, or at least snapped his neck. However, there’s surprisingly little blood on the ground when Abby returns to the spot.

Connor shoves Duncan into a container, and Duncan immediately switches on a flashlight.

Nice to see that James isn’t completely under the thrall of Philip and can take him when he needs to.

I love the ‘stand-off’ between James and Connor at the end.

It was sweet the way they showed that inside the new, more adult, Connor there’s still the Season 1 geek who does seekrit handshakes and is all squeeful about getting the girl.

Next time: Helen Mark II by the looks of it!

Callie - Why does Becker wear body armour inside the ARC?
Given some of the creatures that get loose in there & IIRC one takeover by gun-wielding forces...

That one soldier should have been issued a red shirt for goodness sakes. I mean missing the creature & getting hit by your own ricochet??? Was the writer trying for "Most Embarrassing Death"?

No wonder the ARC military so frequently disappear off on tea breaks during creature chases. It's to avoid Embarrassing Death Syndrome. ;-)
