Lolani is the second episode of the Star Trek fan series Star Trek Continues.
Guest stars Erin Gray who got to keep her surname here as Commodore Gray and Fiona Vroom as Lolani.
Lolani is the name of an Orion slave girl who came onboard the Enterprise after escaping from her owner.
Lolani is a powerful episode as the episode title character states her case for the freedom of her fellow slave girl.
Fiona Vroom provides a magnificent performance as Lolani which has been complemented well by Captain Kirk’s disgust on the Federation’s unwillingness to help her and Michele Specht as the sympathetic Dr Elise McKennah.
Quite a tragedy on the decision that Lolani made at the end but does not make it any less powerful by the message the episode conveyed.

Embracing the Winds:

Episode 7.
Released on September 3 2016 just five days before Star Trek's 50th anniversary but fortuitously I saw this on this anniversary date.
Guest stars Buffy alum Clare Kramer.
A very good episode to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek.
This episode has Spock being given his own ship the Hood but his new commission has been challenged by Commander Garrett played by Kramer on the basis that she got passed over for the Hood because she is a woman.
While it was not mentioned here Kirk would no doubt got reminded of what happened to him in Turnabout Intruder when Dr Janice Lester switched bodies with him as she complained that a woman would never command a starship.
Intriguing at the enquiry to look over Garrett's claims whilst excitement goes on at the Hood and what a trick Chekov comes up with to get his fellow crew members out of that situation. This resulted in him getting a well earned promotion to lieutenant.
The enquiry was folded by the Hood getting lost and it raised question of how Kirk would have voted if that didn't happen and amusing what he said of how he would have kept Spock on the Enterprise.

To Boldly Go Part 1:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCBuaTnDsQs

Found out that To Boldly Go serves as the finale of Star Trek Continues with this fan series ending where they think that TOS should have ended with the conclusion of the five-year mission.
Incidentally it has been refuted that end of Continues and its timing is due to new TV series Discovery.
For Kirk and crew they book-end their mission by returning to the situation of the second pilot Where No Man Has Gone Before and of course the title is the second part of the saying in which the first part is the aforementioned title of the Continues finale.
When it comes to titles the said first part comes after the second instead of the other way around.
The guest cast is a curio to Doctor Who fans as it featured Nicola Bryant who had played Peri in that series.
During her time in Doctor Who, Nicola Bryant as Peri mostly travelled with Sixth Doctor Colin Baker and Baker himself had earlier appeared in another Continues episode The White Iris.
When she was playing Peri in Doctor Who, Nicola Bryant played her as an American despite being a Brit in real life and Doctor Who itself is a British series.
Ironically in the Doctor Who-Star Trek spectrum, Nicola Bryant as her Continues character Lana gets to speak with her real Brit voice in a fan series that is based on an American TV series.
Curiously enough she had been in proximity of being in official Star Trek as it has been claimed that she was one of many actresses who was considered for Captain Janeway in Voyager but I read in TARDIS Wiki that she only auditioned for a guest role in that series albeit unsuccessfully.
Also guest stars Amy Rydell as Romulan Commander the same one that her mother Joanna Linville played in the TOS episode The Enterprise Incident.
Lana turns out to be a villain in a powerful portrayal by Nicola Bryant.
Thrilling how it all played out to meeting Lana and Sentek with them marking the cliffhanger as both of them entering and standing on the bridge of the Enterprise.

The last two episodes reveal that Section 31 had tried to weaponize the effect of sending espers through the galactic barrier and duplicating what happened to Gary Mitchell. They no doubt felt that such enhanced people would make the perfect super soldiers that they could use against either the Klingons or Romulans.

Guess S31 didn't read the part in Kirk's report of how dangerous Mitchell became.

The result of this little 31 operation: The loss of four starships and the deaths of 1600 Starfleet officers!

And these people are supposed to be protecting the Federation!?

Someone should have made Kurtzman sit down and watch these. Show him how to make good Star Trek.
