I was watching an "oldies" cable station in the wee hours this morning, and caught the movie "The Guide for the Married Man". Majel had a small part in that movie as a secretary. She looked spledid, as always.
"Spledid", Derf? Is that good or bad?
Apply your own thesaurus, Benn ... that way I won't make an #$$ outa myself.
DERF; DON'T YOU MEAN 'OUTTA' ?
Okay ... who's the "vernacular spelling police" around here?
(Vernacular?! Dat's a doiby!)
Happy Birthday, Majel!
Live long and prosper.
Majel has passed away, at the age of 76. More here.
RIP, Majel and may God bless you.
Wow. You wouldn't believe the man is an actor, would you?
I think Shat's got some of his information wrong. I believe Majel did complete her work as the ship computer for Star Trek.

I loved Majel as the computer voice, and Doctor Chapel...

Hey, Shatner's in his 70's and any negative feelings he had for her (if they even existed) are long gone. You get over lame disagreements after you reach a certain age, or when someone passes away, as Majel has. It's just not worth the effort.
And I think it's inappropriate for you to claim Shatner is being insincere with his condolences to the Roddenberry family, when you don't even know him personally.
I'm sick on people dumping on him.
Time to get a life, people.
Steve, I think you may be jumping to a conclusion that Callie wasn't intending. I'll let her explain what she meant, if she likes, but I don't see her remark as meaning Shatner was anything other than a bit awkward in the clip.
Majel would have been the First Officer of the ship, had the NBC suits not interfered.
No doubt her character would have gotten an actual name, had that happened, instead of just being called Number One.
Gene pished off the network by casting his girlfriend.
Is that the excuse the NBC suits gave because their 1964 minds couldn't cope with the idea of a woman being one step away from the captain of the ship?
Majel took part, in one way or another, in every incarnation of the true Star Trek, from this, right through to Enterprise.
