I've read a variation, at least, of the fencing
story. Not sure if it included the samurai sword
part though. Makes sense. The story on Sulu's hair
is new to me. That always usedta kinda bother me.
Now I know...

Mf, I agree with your assessment of the Trek characters. It's why I said, "Still, we're talking about a guy who fantasizes about being
D'Artangnan (sp?), so it may be useless to draw
any conclusions." It's also why I remain primari-
ly a fan of the Original, One-true STAR TREK. The
others are ocassionally nice/fun to watch. But it's not like the way I was with the original 79
episodes. I HAD to watch each and every one. These
days, I miss an ep of DS9, Voyager, The Next De-
generation, er, Generation-no problem. Watch it later. Maybe.

As we all know, Mr. Sulu was missing quite a bit from the second season because he was co-starring with John Wayne in "The Green Berets"

Since both Sulu and Chekov are in the pic, I'm hoping this isn't intended as having anything to do with Sulu being Asian. "}

Is that a ring on Chekov's finger in that picture?

Interesting that the novels gave Sulu the first name "Hikaru" before The Undiscovered Country canonized it.
