Mr. Leslie

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: ClassicTrek: The Characters: Mr. Leslie

By Padawan Nitpicker on Friday, November 26, 1999 - 2:35 pm:

For those who demanded it (actually, no-one did, but I thought it would be a good idea anyway) here`s the first Mr Leslie fan club! Here we can discuss matters such as Leslie`s return from the grave (hence the title) and our own theories and explanations on the matter, along with other topics concerning Eddie Paskey`s roles.

By Nick Angeloni (Nangeloni) on Friday, November 26, 1999 - 9:57 pm:

Do you want me to move this under the "Character" subtopic and add a board for Eddie Paskey under "Cast?" I can if you'd like. Speaking of which, I should probably put one for Kyle as well...

By Padawan Nitpicker on Saturday, November 27, 1999 - 3:18 am:

OK. He did appear in more episodes than Chekov, Uhura or Sulu!

By Todd Pence on Saturday, November 27, 1999 - 7:20 am:

Wasn't the name "Leslie" inspired by the name of one of William Shatner's daughters?

By Padawan Nitpicker on Saturday, November 27, 1999 - 12:42 pm:

Possibly. Lemli was named after all three.

By John A. Lang on Thursday, July 12, 2001 - 3:35 pm:

Mr. Leslie...
the red shirt who nver dies... :)

By OOPS! on Thursday, July 12, 2001 - 3:36 pm:

Mr. Leslie...
the red shirt who never dies :)

Forgot "spell check"

By Kinggodzillak on Tuesday, July 24, 2001 - 2:28 pm:

Mr Leslie..
The redshirt who was mentioned by name and died in 'Obsession.'
But he got better..

By John A. Lang on Friday, November 29, 2002 - 6:45 pm:

Homer Simposon's opinion of Mr. Leslie:

"Mr. Leslie is like donuts. There's nothing he can't do!"

By John A. Lang on Friday, November 29, 2002 - 6:46 pm:

Sorry...That should be: HOMER SIMPSON! (geez!) :(

By Blue Berry on Saturday, November 30, 2002 - 12:13 pm:

Mr. Leslie was obviously a Q.

By John A. Lang on Saturday, May 24, 2003 - 6:55 am:

First appearance: "Where No Man Has Gone Before" (Blue shirt)
Last appearance: "Elaan of Troyius" (Red shirt)

Jobs held: Security, Helmsman, Navigator, Engineer Personel, Doctor's assistant

By Nove Rockhoomer on Saturday, May 24, 2003 - 11:22 am:

His name is spelled "Lesley" in the credits of "Return of the Archons."

By John A. Lang on Saturday, May 24, 2003 - 1:49 pm:

Yeah...and that was in season one...the same season that had the "Scpipt supervisor" snafu. You're gonna believe that idiot's spelling of "Leslie"? I sure wouldn't! :)

By Sven of Nine on Sunday, May 25, 2003 - 3:15 am:

Mind you, according to the stories I've heard, TNG nearly had a character called Leslie Crusher. (Who was female. And probably more precocious than Our Wes. But I digress.) But presumably they decided against it because no-one wanted to see our Leslie being crushed.

By John A. Lang on Saturday, June 07, 2003 - 6:04 pm:

Disregard 5/24 posting.

Mr. Leslie's last appearance was NOT "Elaan of Troyius", but I THINK it was "And The Children Shall Lead"

By Nove Rockhoomer on Saturday, June 07, 2003 - 9:54 pm:

If you're going by production order (which it appears you are), Leslie was in "Is There in Truth No Beauty?" as a security guard.

But---In airdate order, he was in "Spectre of the Gun," which is later, and "Elaan" is after all of those. Since you knew he was in "Elaan," that's why I figured you were using production order.

By John A. Lang on Sunday, June 08, 2003 - 7:36 am:

I'm glad I used "I think" this time. It makes me appear less "blind". You're correct in pointing that out. I now remember him being in that episode. He was jogging along with Kirk down the hallway to the Medusan's quarters.

By John A. Lang on Sunday, June 08, 2003 - 1:35 pm:

Now I'm REALLY glad I used "I think". Mr. Leslie appears again in "Spock's Brain" (Production-wise after Elaan of Troyius)

By ScottN on Sunday, June 08, 2003 - 3:42 pm:

Spock's Brain" (Production-wise after Elaan of Troyius)

That's awfully odd, since Spock's Brain was the first aired episode of season 3, and Elaan of Troyius was in the middle of the season.

By John A. Lang on Sunday, June 08, 2003 - 3:45 pm:

Yeah..the ORIGINAL first episode of season 3 was "Spectre of the Gun", but they changed the air date to coincide with the date of the actual gunfight of the O.K. Corral.

By John A. Lang on Monday, June 09, 2003 - 10:25 pm:

OK....it appears my vision is "healed" now. I just watched "The Empath" & Mr. Leslie was not in that episode. And I'm pretty sure that he doesn't appear in the episodes following that. SO...what that means is that I'm 99.9% sure that Mr. Leslie's last episode was: "Is There In Truth No Beauty?" (Otherwise I need more Visine) :)

By Christer Nyberg on Thursday, July 24, 2003 - 1:45 pm:

Leslie's last episode was "Is There in Truth No Beauty" in production order and "Elaan of Troyius" in air date order.

By John A. Lang on Friday, July 25, 2003 - 7:41 am:

They failed to mention that Eddie Paskey also appeared as one of the citizens of Eminiar VII in "A Taste of Armegeddon" (See TOS boards for my finding of Eddie Paskey in that episode)

By Christer Nyberg on Friday, July 25, 2003 - 9:47 am:

You mean I failed to mention it, since it's my site? In that case no, I only list Enterprise crewmembers (and starfleet officers)

By John A. Lang on Friday, July 25, 2003 - 10:19 am:

Ah...Sorry. I thought you were listing ALL the appearances of Eddie Paskey in TOS.

By Sir Rhosis on Saturday, July 26, 2003 - 3:44 pm:

Biggest Eddie Myth Debunked. I've seen so many places that mention Eddie getting bonked by the plastic rock in "The Return of The Archons." Not so. It is Lindstrom who takes it on the noggin' and keeps on joggin', not Mr. Leslie. Eddie Paskey is last in line, behind De Kelly, when the famous boulder comes flying across the screen.

Since Eddie was before acting, and again after acting, a mechanic, I wonder if any of the Trek cast ever hit him up to take a look at their cars when they might have been acting up...

Sir Rhosis

By Josh M on Sunday, July 27, 2003 - 12:25 pm:

A recent issue of Star Trek Communicator had a feature article on Mr. Leslie and an interview with Paskey. Apparently, his name was indeed Leslie in honor of Bill Shatner's daughter.

One more Job held: Command of the bridge

Wasn t Leslie on the Defiant bridge in Tholian Web?

By Nove Rockhoomer on Saturday, February 14, 2004 - 4:05 pm:

Just wanted to mention Lemli was in a bunch of other episodes not mentioned above (around 27 or so), beginning with "Who Mourns for Adonais?" and ending with "Turnabout Intruder."

By Jayson Spears on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 - 3:08 pm:

What issue of ST communicator was Mr Leslie in?

By Adam Bomb on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 - 9:54 pm:

Mr. Lemli was also in "The Way To Eden." He's seen sitting at the engineering station on the bridge. Check out his aptitude at air guitar, during the concert.

By Padawan Observer on Sunday, December 05, 2004 - 5:59 pm:

You sure? I thought he had quit acting by that time...?

By John A. Lang on Wednesday, June 01, 2005 - 4:06 am:

Most appearances of Mr. Leslie in one episode:

FIVE

"Assignment: Earth"

First appearance: He's in red at the engineer's post.

Second appearance: He's in yellow, wandering the halls.

Third appearance: He's wearing a red jumpsuit in Engineering.

Fourth appearance: He's wearing red as a Transporter Technician that got knocked out by Gary Seven's stun pen

Fifth appearance: He's in red again as a security guard when Scotty is trying to beam up Gary Seven from rocket site.

By Anonymous22 on Wednesday, June 01, 2005 - 8:12 am:

the costume designer for Assignment Earth must be ticked off on Eddie I get around Paskey :)

By John A. Lang on Wednesday, June 01, 2005 - 12:09 pm:

Mr. Leslie: god or man?

HE IS OMNIPOTENT...as seen in his miraculous leap from behind the Transporter Control to the Command Chair all the way up on the Bridge in "The Squire of Gothos"

HE IS OMNIPRESENT...as seen in "Assignment: Earth" with his 5 separate appearances throughout the ship.

HE IS OMNISCIENT....as seen with all the positions he holds....IE: Medical Assistant, Helmsman, Navigator, Security Guard, Transporter Tecnician, & Engineering Assistant

HE IS IMMORTAL...as seen in "Obsession" where he was "killed" by the cloud creature. Also he was reduced to a geometrical shape by the Kelvans in "By Any Other Name", yet still manages to keep on going!

HE IS A "QUICK-CHANGE ARTIST"...as seen in "Assignment: Earth" with his various uniform changes.

By Tim McCree (Tim_m) on Wednesday, October 03, 2018 - 5:50 am:

Leslie was not the only Security guard to come back from the dead. Galloway managed it too, although he changed his name to Johnson for some reason.
