Anyone notive he was in ST II aboard the Reliant? He just disappeared after that, I think.
I noticed him. Unfortunately, he had a very thankless part....
Great to see him, though, and know that the actor was still alive. A nice touch by whoever hired him, and a way of saying 'We remember', instead of getting some nameless actor off the street for a nameless part.
Of course let's not forget "The Immunity Syndrome" in which Shatner accidentally (or deliberately) called John Winston: "Mr. Kowel"..yet the end credits accidently (or deliberately) list him as: "Mr. Kyle"
WHO IS CORRECT? Shatner or the end credits person? (Restraining laughter)
Does this mean Kyle (or Kowel ) was killed with the rest of the Reliant's crew?
\-2(I knew it was a mistake to make all the new Starfleet uniforms red...}
Nobody ever said Reliant's crew was dead. What Terrell said was that the crew had been marooned on Ceti Alpha VI.
Live long and prosper.
Oh yes, of course. It was the Regula 1 crew that was killed. Silly me.
Actually (in the original theatrical release - at least my local theater) they showed Khan & company being beamed about the reliant, and Khan kills Kyle.
Kyle was the O'Brien of TOS.
Of course, O'Brien got character development that Kyle could only dream of.
7 years later, but...
I'm calling out DaveKwiatkowski about his so-called 'original theatrical release', and Khan killing Kyle.
That never happened. I saw the movie on opening night, too, waaaay back on June 4, 1982, and I guarantee you that scene does NOT exist. I've seen the extended version on DVD, I've seen alternate scenes, but that does NOT exist.
Sounds like the Mandala Effect. From Wikipedia:
False memories can sometimes be shared by multiple people. This phenomenon gained mainstream attention when multiple people reported shared memories of the death of South African leader Nelson Mandela in the 1980s, despite the fact that Mandela actually died in 2013.
