No one's commented on this yet, so I guess I'll begin:
This new series began airing on March 3, 2006. I have yet to see an entire episode (five have aired) even though it's had a Saturday evening repeat by NBC, as well as "re-purposings" on the USA Cable channel. What bits and pieces I did see, didn't impress me much. Stephanie March has returned as her Alexandra Cabot character, but there's no explanation why she's out of witness protection. She's also Alex Cabot in name only, because the all-business Alex us SVU watchers are familiar with would never do the things this Alex is doing. Like getting hot and heavy with a co-worker on the desk, with the ancient cliche of the two of them ripping off their clothes. The focus is on the very young Asst. D.A.'s working in New York City, two of which are played by Eric Balfour (24) and Julianne Nicholson. We know it takes place in the Law & Order universe, as Arthur Branch's name is on the glass door of the D.A.'s office. But, that's it. They use pop songs to close some of the acts, and Mike Post doesn't even do the music. Maybe he's too old hat for the younger viewers this show is obviously aimed at. But, those same young viewers are not home on Friday nights, when this series airs. I guess they could tape or Tivo it, though.
In short, this series so far is kind of lame. Law & Order - Trial By Jury, which used many of the same sets, was better.

Apparently, very few of the young people this series was aimed at bothered to tape or Tivo it, as NBC cancelled it today. The two hour finale airs this Friday (5/19.)
