According to a source of mine (she's a production assistant on 24 -- laid off during the strike and recently rehired), Season 7 will be next year. Instead, there will be a 90 minute TV Movie, unrelated to day 7, to tide us 24 junkies over.
Actually, it's a prequel to season seven, titled 24 Redemption. It aired yesterday, and an extended cut DVD will be released tomorrow. More here.
It was also a 2 hour TV movie, not 90 minutes.
Probably 90 minutes of actual footage when you don't include the commercials.
Nice to see Jack still has his bag from, what?, season three? That canvas messenger thing in which he carries/carried all the tools of his trade/survival.
My Better Half got me a bag last Christmas in which I keep my PocketPC, satrad reciever (when not in the car) flash drives (yes, plural), SD cards, pens, stylus, wallet, keys...she calls it my Jack bag.
As to the storyline: pretty nice character development this time; the writers obviously are familiar with Ishmael Beah and the fall of Saigon; as soon as Jack came along on the hike to the city we knew something was going to happen to his friend to force Jack to take the boys to the embassy.
A good movie in and of itself. I just wish the writers hadn't felt the need to shoehorn this into the Day 7 storyline. But more under that heading...
Wrong board, Kyle, but I noticed the "man-purse" (as TWoP called it) too.
Whoops, it was here too. sorry.
