A Bug's Life

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Farscape: Season One: A Bug's Life
A Peacekeeper marauder approaches, needing repairs to a caesium leak. D’Argo, Zhaan and Rygel masquerade as prisoners aboard Moya while John impersonates a Peacekeeper captain, being the only one to fit a PK uniform they have. The marauder crew insist on being taken to a new Gammak base (military science) in the Uncharted Territories, and bring a container aboard. Chiana, posing as a servant, gets an impression of the key to the container. She and Rygel open it in the hope of finding something worth stealing but find inside a creature in suspended animation. As one of the PKs approaches they hide, and as the PK leans into the container he shudders, then kills one of his colleagues as he comes in. Catching Chiana as she tries to escape, he kisses her and she is then possessed by the intellent virus which was originally in the creature and which can only move from host to host by physical contact. The possessed Chiana claims that it’s Rygel who’s infected and, as he’s gone into hiding, he can’t deny it. The two groups team up to search for him and eventually capture him and put him into stasis. During this time, the virus jumps from Chiana to John, who kills one of the commandos and destroys the stasis gun. Zhaan then realises that Chiana has had the virus in her and suspects John. Both crews jump him, during which the virus transfers again, prompting a stand-off amongst everyone. With everyone pointing guns at each other, Zhaan prepares an antidote which reveals that the virus is in the commando captain. He escapes in the marauder but John tells Moya to initiate the first stage of a starburst which ignites the trail from the marauder’s caesium leak and blows it up.

Why'd the PK with the shaved head get so close to the infected alien rubber chicken? He knew what was in it and that physical contact was to be avoided.

When Crichton, Dargo, and Zhaan leave Rygel's quarters after they find that he's slipped out, they leave the door open. Not a very smart thing to do in case any PKs happened to pass by.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Translator Microbes allow someone to understand languages, but they still seem to be able to hear the original language being spoken. If the Translator Microbes actually alter what the person hears, then it would be impossible for Aeryn to be learning English from John in Season 3. She would be hearing John speaking Sebacean.

Given that, shouldn't the PK Commandos be a little suspicious that Capt. Crichton wasn't speaking Sebacean?
