Yea! Jool got a new outfit. It's about time. And she's actually pretty good in a crisis, for once. I thought Gigi did a great job portraying the possessed Chiana.
I'm hoping that down the road the creators explain why John bled so much, or why Chiana knew where D'argo was at the end of the ep.
I thought the bleeding was supposed to make us say this John is "the clone" (though I thought the weird guy said they were two equal people or something) and Chiana knew where Dargo was because of the thing that had possessed her.
That's just how I saw it. I never promise to be right about anything.
I hope the crew reunites soon. I don't liike only seeing half of them an episode.....
I'm probably dopey but can someone explain why the DRD was called 'Pike'?
I agree with Cstadulis - Gigi did a superb job with her portrayal of the alien.
So what did happen to all the blood that John lost?
This episode left me saying, "And ...?" Hopefully it will all be made clear in time.
I'm assuming it was just a random name that John gave it to single it out against the rest of them. It also may of been, and this is where I show my geeky side, after Christopher Pike the first captain of the enterprise who after a major accident was confined to a wheelchair like device that kinda slid along the ground like the DRDs. He could only communicate by way of blinking a small light on the from of this chair, much like the way John asked the DRD to act.
The "And...?" was kinda my feeling as well. I can't help thinking it was more of a filler than anything else. Didn't fit in with the rest of the series, for one you think they'd be trying to find Talyn, Aeryn (especially John) and the rest rather than Wormholes.
I realise thins are kinda hectic as well and they possibly have their minds on other things but it seems a shame that they've forgotten about Zhaan so soon. It might of been nice if there had been a throwaway line like "I wish Zhaan where here" or something.
First captain of the Enterprise? What about that Archer bloke?! Cor, you're not as geeky as you thought!
I like the idea, though; I thought perhaps Pike was some Australian or American guy who I'd not heard of. I was also misled by memories of young Pike from Dad's Army!
I actually get the feeling that later in the series we might well look back at this episode as having had a lot of important stuff in it.
Well, depends on how you wanna look at it. In terms of the 1701 Enterprise, Pike was the first captain of that.
*lols*...I can just see it zooming around Moya going "Don't Panick! Don't Panick!"
"Whistle while you work, Scorpy is a berk, he's half barmy ..." !!
The DRDPike did indeed refer to Captain Pike of the Enterprise.
Crichton says that they will use "the Star Trek system" for communication. The ONLY place that the one blink/two blinks thing has been used on Star Trek was in the episode "The Menagerie" when Captain Christopher Pike is crippled in an accident and has to communicate in this fashion.
HA! I'm a bigger geek than all of you!
:^)
See ya later
TUE
*gets on is knees infront of TUE*
We're not worthy!
We're not worthy!
We're not worthy!
All hail TUE, King of the Geeks!! May you forever rule on the Nitcentral boards!
Best line: D'Argo - "This plan is so bad it has to be ours". I love the writing on this show!
Was is just me or did the possessed Chiana sound like Forrest Gump?
Mama always told me life is like a box of chocolates....
you never know which ones are the nuts...
You all think you're big geeks! But you're forgetting one important detail! Pike was NOT the first captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701! Robert M. April was!
He was featured in one of the animated episodes. And, for those who don't like to consider the animated Trek as canon, I do beleive he was also inculded in either the Chronology or the Encyclopedia... perhaps both. (Can't remember for sure, and I don't have my copies of either immedietly handy.) And those books, I beleive, are considered as canon.
I felt kind of bad for that DRD that got caught in the Starburst chamber. Poor guy.
SpottedKitty: Well, depends on how you wanna look at it. In terms of the 1701 Enterprise, Pike was the first captain of that.
Here comes my geeky side.
The 1st captain of 1701 was actually Robert April.
Never mind.
I'd forgotten about him...Ooops
