Good episode. I enjoyed seeing some old friends again.

OK, I need to know something. Who is the IDIOT who does the scheduling for Farscape on the Sci-Fi channel? No episodes until January? What about the re-runs of these Season 4 episodes?

By cstadulis on Monday, August 26, 2002 - 8:30 am:

As usual, I would love to sock some of those Sci-Fi geniuses right between the eyes. We have to wait until JANUARY to see how this gets resolved! ARGGHHHHH!!!

Very good to see our old friends again.

By Duane Parsons on Monday, August 26, 2002 - 2:43 pm:

IIRC, they said that new episodes would be out in Jan 03 (yeah, the waiting, again). Hopefully they will show the season's shows again. I missed a couple due to work travel and the spouse missed recording them.

By Tom Petty on Monday, August 26, 2002 - 3:17 pm:

The waiting is the hardest part.

TUE'S THOUGHTS ON THE HIATUS:

They do this because they're just a relatively small cable company and they can't compete with the larger networks during their sweeps periods so they have to wait until summer or odd months like January and March.

I read this on an interview that was posted on Farscape World.

TUE'S THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODE:

This was one bizarre thing. Very entertaining. We finally have almost all the answers to the questions from back in "Dog With Two Bones". Now if we can just find out who the father of Aeryn's baby is....

I think I have a nit, but I'm not sure. AlienMan said that these unrealized realities would be created if Crichton were to go back in time through a wormhole. But I don't see how any amount of time travelling could produce the crossbreeded half mutated crew we see near the end.

I don't think Crichton made it back. There has to be a catch. He's probably at Earth but back before he left. It'll be interesting to see.

POINTLESS NOTE: This is my first post ever to be made from my college dorm room. Wahoo!

See ya later

Is this the potential loophole to let Zhaan back into the show? I sure hope so.

As for the screwed up variants, I believe that was the working of the Time Keeper. Seemed every jump was to emphasize and expand on the Time Keeper's point. The crossing of characters were by far some of the most extreme, and it seemed to nicely put the fear of God in Crichton. I believe the variants would occur as a landslide for possibilities by creating a tiny sliver from going to before you left. Much like a hole in the bottom of a water bladder. All the water comes pouring out at you, despite the "minimal" amount of damage. Thus the mantra, in case of opening the potential realities, fix the first problem you find, run, and pray. That's what I got after a couple of viewings. My poor mind is resistant to the Hard Sci Fi theories.

Did anyone else notice that in her past few appearances Zhaan's makeup has been drastically changed from what we are used? She no longer has that yellow pattern on her head, and the blue is a different shade. Speaking of which, she sure shows up a lot for a dead plant :)

By Merat on Monday, September 02, 2002 - 12:42 pm:

Oh, and yet again the creators feel the need to dress D'argo up in a strange outfit. This time he is an a corset and has long red hair and a high voice.

----- Oh, and yet again the creators feel the need to dress D'argo up in a strange outfit. This time he is an a corset and has long red hair and a high voice. -----

I believe that's because he really wasn't D'argo, he was a version of Jool. In that reality, Rygel was D'argo, Granny was Rygel, Chiana was Granny, Aeryn was Chiana, Sikoyuz (sp?) was Stark. I think that's how it went, anyway.

As for Zhan's differences, I believe that's because she won't shave her head anymore, so they can't do quite the same level of make-up that they were able to do before.

By Merat on Tuesday, September 03, 2002 - 9:34 pm:

Sorry, I should have said Anthony Simcoe, but its usually D'argo who gets dressed up. :) I've also noticed that they don't seem to want to show the actor's nose either......

By Merat on Tuesday, September 03, 2002 - 9:37 pm:

And I just now realized that the posting you responded to could be taken to mean that I don't like them dressing Simcoe/D'argo up. I do! It is always very funny, and they really seem to take a perverse pleasure topping themselves each time. Though I think the corset will be tough to beat.... :)

By cstadulis on Wednesday, September 04, 2002 - 11:08 am:

Who knows, maybe Simcoe has this deep desire to wear corsets or leiderhosen, or have red hair.... Perhaps next time, high heels and fishnet stockings? (although I think John already has had the pleasure of wearing that particular outift!)
It is true, though, that D'argo gets dressed up quite a bit, though Chiana has had her share of "dress-ups" (like that adorable little Pip outfit from "John Quixote"). Of course, John gets it the most, I think, of anyone, but he's much easier to dress. Just think how long it must have taken Simcoe to get into some of those outfits he had to wear!

If the theories were difficult to understand, they are somewhat explained more at Crichton's Journey Log at the Sci Fi Channel Farscape website:

Gawd...I've just seen this episode and wouldn't /this/ be the worst way to end the series...I think I'd be knocking on some Sci-Fi execs door with a meat cleaver if that happened.

Overall I quite liked this one again. Was nice to find out at least some of what happened to Pilot et all during their wormhole kidnapping.
One question reamins though..if these guys are intended to stop people getting womrhole tech then how did the Pathfinders get it?
Was it /because/ of the Pathfinders messing about with wormholes that they decided to take it uppon themselves to police the whole mess or what?

By Callie on Monday, December 16, 2002 - 2:18 pm:

This was one fantastic episode! It was superbly put together – the director and editor must have worked really hard to get all those different people and clips together so well.

Lots of great moments, including:
John back at day one on Moya: “What is the matter with you people? … Tongue” (remembering how D’Argo had tongued him at that moment).
Claudia did a fantastic job playing Chiana, so much so that it was only on the second viewing of the episode that I realised it was her in the first scene on the alternate Moya as well (the one where all the others were dead and she was trying to jump John before they died).
John as son of Scorpius – and Scorpius as human with beautiful black nail varnish!
D’Argo in Jool’s clothes – oh boy!

I could have accepted Stark’s new look better if we’d not already seen him with hair in John Quixote. Unfortunately, seeing him with hair in both episodes just made it clear that Paul Goddard didn’t want to shave his head. Which is fair enough but surely they could have come up with a bald cap or a wig of his previous look?

By Scott McClenny on Saturday, December 28, 2002 - 7:13 pm:

I saw this ep. for the first time during the
Farscape marathon.

Was Crichton still in the Wormhole when he met up with the alien?Or did that take place in some other dimension. In other words was all this all happening in Crichton's head as he was slidding down the wormhole or was he temporarily taken out of his reality to another dimension where he and the alien could both some how exist briefly?

By SpottedKitty on Sunday, December 29, 2002 - 4:14 am:

For me the episode seems to hint that the Alien blokie pulled Chrichton out of the wormhole into a small pocket of reality he'd created...what kind of backs me up on this is an exchange between C and the Alien where the Alien states the difficulty in returning Chrichton because he doesn't have a ship to travel in.

By Josh M on Monday, November 24, 2003 - 2:20 pm:

Okay, this one I did not get when I first saw it. I had to watch a couple of times to sort everything out, but it's all good now. I liked it, there were some cool parts. I really liked Einstein's look. That was awesome.

Seeing Zhaan with the bald cap again is just plain weird. She looks a lot different, even compared to her look in John Quixote. But it was nice to see some past characters reappear.

And, wow, Claudia is really, really good as Chiana. What a great performance.

I'm glad I'm catching all these on tape. Waiting five months for this would have sucked.
