By Spottedkitty on Monday, January 13, 2003 - 12:10 pm:

All I can think about atm (about 25 mins into the show) is Emohawk from Red Dwarf.

By Spottedkitty on Monday, January 13, 2003 - 12:38 pm:

Well, that proves it then. ^_^ This did end up as a bit like a more "serious" (if that word can be applied to Farscape) of Emohawk from the UK series of Red Dwarf. :) Not that that's a bad thing.

I like how they're protraying Scorpius now...he's gone from being No1 Big Bad Enemy to someone that's almost trustworthy (even though he's obviously up to something with Sikozu).

I dunno about others but I thought it was a reasonably strong episode overall...

By Edwin on Monday, January 13, 2003 - 7:43 pm:

Personally I found it closer to the original Polymorph episode rather than Emohawk.

This was another fine episode, although perhaps not quite as good as the last couple.

By Spottedkitty on Tuesday, January 14, 2003 - 1:54 am:

Well, The reason why I thought it bore more relation to the Emohawk ep rather than the original was the whole "Getting it from a trader" situation as that's how Lister and Co. managed to get on the wrong end of the second Polymorph. The first one they just kinda happened to bump into.
A friend also said the Spider "morph" of the woman reminded him of the one from the adaption of Stephen Kings IT with Tim Ried in it....

By Callie on Tuesday, January 14, 2003 - 2:53 am:

I’m with Kitty and Edwin – this really was a Polymorph/Emohawk rip-off! D’Argo in particular took on the role of Rimmer in Polymorph in the way he lost his anger and was sure that the baddies could simply be reasoned with. I’m just glad he didn’t set up the Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms ... never mind. ;-)

The opening monologue hasn’t changed, even though it doesn’t quite make sense any more.

John snatches a handful of money out of Rygel’s paw to pay for Talikaa. The traders had asked for 700 krindars – I would have expected Rygel to insist that the money was counted – or was he just conveniently holding the right amount?!

The trading ship left very quietly – so quietly that I didn’t even notice it had gone!

Where did Chiana get the clothes for Talikaa? If there are other clothes on Moya, why don’t the women (in particular) ever change their clothes?

So which trait of the Traders did Talikaa take? And how come they didn’t realise how ill they were? If they felt half as bad as the crew of Moya did, they should have been concerned with more important issues than selling a few maps. They obviously were ill because they died shortly afterwards, but they didn’t seem bothered about whatever part of their personality had been removed. And how did they overpower Talikaa in the first place?

Is Scorpius’ vehement threat to kill Sikozu’s attacker an indication that he may have feelings for her?

Why didn’t Talikaa attack Pilot?

Boy, Scorpius can produce some phlegm!

Nice touch: just before the fade-out, it looks as if Aeryn mouths ‘I love you’. I did wonder why John didn’t find a way to tell her why he was blanking her before (particularly while they were on Earth) but then I decided that he wasn’t ready to talk to her previously – in fact he may really have been trying to get over her.

This episode was written by David Peckinpah, the guy who ruined Sliders.

By JGamble on Saturday, January 25, 2003 - 1:54 pm:

How did Peckinpah ruin Sliders by chance?

When Talikaa morphs, what the hell happens to her clothes?

I'm so glad Scorpius is not as good as they were making him out to be. Preservation of good villians is an important act of conservation.

I wonder how Crichton and Aeryn plan to sneak around behind everyone's backs to be together without anyone growing suspicious or catching them. while it'll fire up the passion, it could become a neusance at times.

I believe one of the traders lost his confidence (the guy who seemed paranoid and unsure of walking away from the trade). It looked like they were just recently bitten, and unsure of what happened decided just to sell her 'to be safe'. Note they have puncture wounds, but not the spreading veiny fun that moya's crew display later on in the show.

Normally I'd agree with you. I think things like introducing the Borg Queen was a bit daft and was the start of the downfall of the Borg as a decent enemy in Trek...however, on this case, I actually like where they seem to be going with Scorpius.
I doubt he has "gone good" on us as I think he and Sikozu have got something going. His only reason for doing Good is the fact he want's John for himself...
Preservation of a good villain is a good idea, but keep one two-dimensional is not and, so far, I think they've fleshed ol' Scorius out quite well.

By Anonymous on Sunday, January 26, 2003 - 11:50 am:

Juat one more example of the Great Galactic Constant, "Trust someone long enough and they'll stab you in the back". How many people are going to come aboard Moya and screw this group over before they wisen up and start locking everyone up?

"Preservation of good villains is an important act of conservation." Amen. No worries about Scorpius turning over a new leaf, seeing as how he maintains his control over his 1st officer on the command carrier. As they say, "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer."

By Scott McClenny on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 - 4:36 pm:

Is David Peckinpah any relation to the famous movie director Sam Peckinpah who was well noted
for filming scenes of blood and gore,as in
The Wild Bunch?

Is Crichton just paranoid or is Scorpy really spying on him?

Yes. :O

I finally caught up with this episode (so glad it snowed here on the US East Coast Friday, and I didn't have to go to work), and, at first, I was not hopeful that Farscape was ending its run on a good note. The whole storyline with Talikaa seemed pointless, and the way the characters were overacting seemed almost like charicatures of themselves. I wondered either (a) what TPTB were up to, or (b) what Talikaa was up to.

I was not, repeat NOT disappointed. Particularly in the very last scene - Grasshopper's been a rat-bas**** all along, and John and Aeryn really can maybe work things out.

OK, I am a total dork, but in the final scene when Crichton tells Aeryn that she is the key to his hiding the wormhole information and that it's all been a ploy to protect it and her, I got misty-eyed.

I just know that the payoff ain't comin'...

Finally, finally I got to see this ep... It only took me three weeks!

I agree with just about everything that's been said before, though I love John's "You're good enough, you're strong enough and, darn it, people like you."

So, where was Dwayne Diddly? I guess Talikaa ate him.

For me, the ending definately saved the episode. I knew those two would get back together again! And Scorpius is one bad-*** villian. He's the best at being underhanded and evil. Does anyone else think he's never going to die?

By Josh M on Monday, November 24, 2003 - 3:01 pm:

I'm glad that Aeryn and Crichton finally got together. Been waiting for that one for a long time.

I kind of liked this one. It wasn't as great as the past three, but then, I wouldn't expect it to be. It kind of reminded me of Beware of Dog (especially when they mentioned it).

That spider thing looked pretty cool. I was impressed.

It stole Chiana's sex drive?? LMAO That was hilarious!
