We’re So Screwed, Part 3: La Bomba

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Farscape: Season Four: We’re So Screwed, Part 3: La Bomba
.
HI THERE
Message engraved on the nuke as it drops into the Scarran’s hands shortly before detonating.

The crew continue their endeavours to escape from Katratzi – but Scorpius insists they must trample on some flowers before they leave.

Some quotes:

Chiana (after tunnelling up into the conference chamber): "Are we cursed?"
John (after dropping a nuclear bomb down the previously tunnelled hole): "Oh, should probably have voted on that. All those for?"

Wow, once again Farscape knocks the socks off. However one point, I cannot believe that Scorpius wouldn't have thought that the Scarrans wouldn't have protected the mother plant somehow is rather, in my mind, implausible.

Sooooo, now we have Stark back on board. I’m surprised nothing happened between him and John considering what happened last time they “met”.

BBC: Why show two eps last week and not this week…I don’t get it?!

Other great lines:
John, referring to himself and Scorpius: “So here we are – Cadaver and Hutch.”

John: “[Ahkna] scares the crap out of me.”
Aeryn: “It’s the hat.”

I wasn’t quite sure what to make of this episode. It wasn’t quite the barnstormer I was expecting from the finale of the three-parter, and I wonder if this time they’re saving the real blockbuster for the final ep. The only time I really had my heart in my mouth was when Chiana and then D’Argo were holding the elevator doors open, as I was half-expecting that one of them would be crushed to death.

Katratzi looked like the wreck of the Death Star!

The director could have done with making sure that all the actors knew how to pronounce ‘Crystherium’. Most characters said ‘Crystheerium’ but Ahkna said ‘Crysteerium’ and Jenek pronounced it ‘Crysthairium’.

Good to see Braca get some balls at last. Is this the first time we’ve learned that his first name is Miklo?

Sikozu kissing Scorpius – ewww!

I imagine that the BBC version was cut during the scene where Noranti stuck a knife in bioloid-Stark’s eye, as the scene seemed to cut away very quickly.

Obviously the elevator had to be extremely strong in order to tunnel through solid rock, but would its makers really make it radiation resistant? Shouldn’t all our heroes have got a massive dose of radiation?

Talking of a ‘massive dose of radiation’, I imagine that Aeryn must have gone through hell agreeing to this plan in the first place (i.e. John wearing a nuke) after the way the other John died.

Are we assuming that Aeryn went to the medical facility on the PK ship in order to restart her pregnancy?

Kitty – I too grumbled at only having one episode this week, especially after last year when the last two weeks had two episodes. I wonder whether they threw an extra one in last week because they have some kind of contract that says they must show their episodes x number of weeks in advance of the SciFi Channel and they realised they’d missed a week recently because of snooker?

The BBC Thing: That'd be too much to hope for C. :) If it /is/ true I hope more shows strike up a deal like that. Maybe then the Beeb (and others) will actually treat Sci-Fi with a bit of respect for once.

Stark Bioloid: Yeahs, I did notice that the scene was rather short myself, meant to mention it. I also wondered how a bioloid could mimic Starks mainly "Energy" based existence....but I guess without a detailed explanation of how they work/ are created I guess we'll have to accept it.

Another great quote (Done from memory so may not be exact)-
John (after getting back in the lift): "D'Argo, Do you know how to drive this thing?"
D'argo: "No, Do you?"
John: "No"
D'argo: "Then why bother asking!"

Loved the Wonkavator reference!

So how did the Emperor find Stark again? Last time we saw him he was looking for Zhaan.

I knew Scorpius was not working for the Scarrans! Playing both sides for his own agenda.

So how will Scorpius get revenge on Grayza now that she is not in command?
