YES! Its been announced that a Farscape miniseries will be made and released in 2004. All the regulars seem to be back. Maybe now I can actually bring myself to watch the last half of season 4....
I certainly hope the miniseries actually ends the series. I remember when the first Pretender movie came out and everyone was mad that it didn't resolve the story.
I don't want another cliffhanger. I want resolution.
TUE
I want another cliffhanger leading into season five.
The IMDB has a (probably incomplete at the moment) cast list for the mini series.
Everyone who finished season 4 is back, plus Jool, Graza, Braca and Jack Crichton. Francesca Buller also has a role (funnily enough ). And Wayne Pygram's credited as both Scorpius and Harvey.
Only new face is Duncan Young - playing a character called Emperor Staleek.
Theorise away
Staleek is the head of the Scarrans, Chris - he was the one dressed in red who spent the final few episodes arguing with Ahkna about how to deal with Chrichton.
Thanks Callie, I havn't got the dvds for season 4 yet, and my memory of them from when they were broadcast is not that good.
And I meant Grayza, not Graza. Whoops
Francesca Buller plays Staleek's palace adversery, War Minister Ahkna.
Crichton: "She scares the out of me."
Aeryn: "It's the hat."
More news released today.

The Farscape mini has been picked up by the SciFi Channel and will air in late 2004.
Woohoo! I love news.
This is fantastic news. I've set up a new topic on the main board for the mini-series.
Sci Fi’s press release issued on 5th April 2004 reads as follows:
Farscape: Peacekeeper War
Back by popular demand and premiering in fourth quarter 2004! This 4-hour miniseries picks up where the series’ finale left off. The miniseries will bring resolution - Farscape-style - to many of the burning questions left unanswered, and reunites John Crichton (Ben Browder), Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black) and the rest of the Moya crew for one final adventure. Produced by The Jim Henson Company, in association with Hallmark Entertainment, the project is executive produced by Robert Halmi, Jr., and written by series creator Rockne O’Bannon and executive producer David Kemper. Brian Henson directs.
I love the ‘back by popular demand’ bit. If it was so popular, why did they frelling well cancel it in the first place?!
Callie,
Because the Sci Fi channel is run by a bunch of frelling morons who have taken a good channel and saturated it with dren like Scare Tactics and Mad Mad House. I would rather see reruns of old science fictions series (Babylon 5, Six Million Dollar Man, etc.) than the garbage they have on the channel now. Wasn't the whole reason for this channel to give sci fi fans the opportunity to see shows they enjoyed/would enjoy because the major networks are too s t u p i d to invest in good quality sci fi shows instead of these insipid "reality" shows or another cop/lawyer/medical/inane sitcom cookie cutter shows?
Sorry for the rant. I don't even turn on Sci Fi anymore. And I do miss my Friday Farscape Episode.
Please be sure to post in this board when the movie comes on, as I said above, I don't even watch the channel anymore. Thanks.
"will bring resolution - Farscape-style"
Does this worry anyone else?
If they have any sense, they'll leave it on another cliffhanger in the hope of getting a second mini-series!
(Groans at the thought of another bout of screaming at the TV screen.)
Something tells me that it won't be quite as open as Bad Timing. Or any of the Season finales for that matter.
Another name from the past of Farscape - Kim De Lury is on the cast list. He played Tarnat in What Was Lost Pt I.
Resolution - Farscape style? The mind boggles
The Peacekeeper war is mentioned in this weeks TV Guide. Here are some links for it.
It is ABSOLUTELY essential that we all watch this mini series and give it HUGE ratings. Maybe the morons who run the Sci Fi Channel might take notice. I REALLY miss Farscape! It was, and is, one of the most intelligent shows ever to grace the small screen.
WARNING: There are spoilers listed in these links.

Yes, I read the spoliers - at least watchfarscape blacked them out so you could read the rest.
Sounds weird, and totally in keeping with Farscape.
And a consortium of British investors? Go on then Callie, how did you manage to get the others involved to bring it back?
More seriously, any idea when the BBC will show it (hopes for over Christmas)? I presume Contender will have the DVD box set out fairly soon after release (although last time I checked, Blackstar were only up to end of September for releases, with a few pre-announced for christmas).
I've been reading about this Mini-Series thing in the latest SFX mag. Sounds rather impressive.
To take a quote from the Brian Henson segment of the article "Really, it was the fans. It was the fan clubs and the online fans and the stuff they were doing. They were keeping the word out that they missed Farscape and they deperately wanted it back. And they did that iin a very big way. They got the message to everyone who was in any way involved in television and the result was there was financing opportunities that came to me that I'd never have found on my own."
As for when the BBC gets it, the article just mentions that the BBC is currently in discussion..nothing more unfortunately.
Here are some pictures from the miniseries:

TV Guide also had a recent article on the series and EW has it listed in it's 137 top thing they're looking forward to. At least, i think it's 137.
Oh wow, I am so excited about this series now! (Not that I wasn't before, but these pictures have really got me going!)
I see that Stark's gonna be back, and minus his hair again. And it looks like Harvey's going to make an appearance too.
A couple of obeservations from the promo photos:
Is it me, or do all Luxans look alike? With the exception of the one on the left (who looks a lot like the guy who played Kempec in Star Trek:TNG, they all looked like D'Argo in that one picture.
Did anyone read the gibberish on the chalkboard behind Harvey? E=MCHammer, indeed! Indicative of the kind of humor the Farscape team likes sneaking in on us from time to time...
I am soooo looking forward to this mini-series.
Chiana looks a bit different in those pictures. A bit harsher.
More pictures. Most are just of the individual characters.

I hope that Aeryn’s not going to be parading that tummy round for too much of the mini-series – it looks incredibly fake!
Chiana looks like she’s still blind to me.
What has Braka done to his hair?!
Sikozu’s new image makes her look like the girl who won the second Fame Academy (can’t remember her name offhand).
That final picture is very intriguing!

I'm more concerned about the little tuft of hair that he calls a beard.

It takes some getting used to, but I kind of like it.
Wonder what that mini halberd type weapon Scorpius is carrying is.

I assume you mean Josh's link.
I'm not sure - they look like simply promo shots. There's one where Gigi is just staring vacantly (guess the photographer was boring her ), but the rest look like she's focusing properly. But if they are just promo's, then I don't think we can read anything into them either way.
These various new looks imply that quite a bit of time's passed between Bad Timing and PK War, so Chianna's sight may have eventually returned.
Whether she is still blind in the series, and if so, whether she stays that way or her sight recovers over the course of the episodes, I guess we'll find out soon (not soon enough though ).
I looked again and I definitely think that Chiana’s blind in the photos. Her irises seem to be white. She looks the same in the earlier photos that Josh posted a link to, although in the latter of those there’s a picture of her aiming a gun. Maybe she gets only partial sight back?
Well, in the bored one (the second Chianna image - #21?) it looks like you can see her pupils, and IIRC, when she was blind, she had something akin to cataracts (or possibly opaque contact lenses ) over her eyes.
I'll go with them just being promo shots and bearing no relation to reality.

The new teaser was shown during the premiere of SG1 tonight, but in case you missed it the fine folks at Frell Me Dead have several rips uploaded.
(I don't think this falls under video piracy, as it is a commercial, but if so, then take whatever action necessary.)
Here's a link from the Sci Fi Wire. Can I get a Hell Yeah??!! Mark it on your calendars - October 17.

A longer trailer is now available at www.apple.com/trailers.
Some spoilers contained.

Yeah! Saw the trailer, it looks good. Interesting to see Grayza's back in form for the mini-series (wink, wink). She's such a great villioness (villeness, vilieness, sp?). I've been boycotting all things SciFi since Farscape was canceled, so I haven't seen anything about the mini on tv. Can't wait for October.
Reminder to the Brits: Channel 5 are showing this in the UK on Wednesday 8 March from 9 pm until midnight. This is the first (and probably only) terrestrial broadcast.
It's strange that Five have bought it after the BBC showed the series, but any channel will do!
