Logan's Voice

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Dark Angel: Trip Like I Do (The Kitchen Sink): Logan's Voice

Here's an interesting question. We've seen in two episodes now that Logan's computer equipment has the ability to disguise a voice (Heat, Out). This being the case, why does he use his own voice when he's doing the streaming video news reports?
He hides his face, makes sense that he'd mask his voice as well.

It must be a Clark Kent type of trick. Obviously when he takes off his glasses nobody recognizes his voice or his eyes! (The bad guys in "Out" didn't even think to just look at his face to determine his identity!) I guess it is kind of appropriate, seing as to how he's doing a sort of Superman gig.
What else I find weird about his voice changing software is how fast it is. When Max uses it in "Out" it turns her words into that Breen-sounding garble... instantaneously! As in no delay whatsoever! As in it speaks with her! It speaks AS she speaks. I realize computers will advance significantly in the next 20 years but I still think there should be a second or two of delay.

I thought there was a slight delay . . . not a whole second, but it I thought it was just a touch behind her; I remember thinking it was kind of an echo effect. But I see your point. . .

I think Logan is a bit overconfident in his computer to tell you the truth. The way he talks about "Eyes Only" in front of the cop, not masking his voice, not masking his whole face. . . seems to me, despite what he says, he really doesn't think anyone can trace him, stop him, or mess with him. (He even starts his broadcasts that way!)

I don't think their would have to be a noticeable delay in the voice changer. During Halloween the store that I work at had some of those "scream"-style voice changers. While they will not make you sound like the guy from "scream" it did make me sound like the kidnappers from "Ransom" with no delay. Since this was just some little trinket that cost less than $20 it stands to reason that Logan's thousands of $$$ worth of computer equipment could make you sound like anyone with no delay.
