In a time when chickens, toothpaste, and yes even coffee are oh so hard to come by, I find it hard to believe that precious food items such as milk, eggs, and oatmeal would be wasted as beauty aids instead of being eaten.
It amazes me that although the show is filmed in Vancouver the characters still refer to "chilly-ass Canada." In case our American friends don't know already, Seattle and Vancouver have identical climates!
More Canadian trivia: A hat trick is not three goals in one! (Madame X seemed to think it was, which is probably why it didn't work!)
It sounded to me like Logan said "The McCale family" when opening his bottle of champagne... but it could just be my TV.
I liked the fact that they remembered the 'nomalies.
Max is called something like X5-451. Is this an arbitrary numbering system or are there actually 400+ X5s?
Also, we've heard of X-7's but Manticore is still using X5's. If it was a really difficult job, why not send the more advanced soldiers?
When Max notes that the bar code on the kid has 14 digits, whereas X-5's all have 12, Logan immediately recognizes it as a phone number to call Lydecker. How does he do this? Phone numbers are 14 digits in this time setting? With the 1, the area code, the prefix and the last four digits, that's ten. I could understand if Lydecker has a custom phone number with 14 digits, but that Logan IMMEDIATELY recognizes it as such makes it seem as if 14-digits numbers are commonplace.
DW March: Max is called something like X5-451. Is this an arbitrary numbering system or are there actually 400+ X5s?
Luigi Novi: Could be arbitrary. The NextGen and Voyager episode production numbers began with 100, not 0, and DS9 began with 400. And if it's not arbitrary......Whoa.
And of course, for those of you who didn't hear, it was announced on several news organizations this week that Jessica Alba and Michael Weatherly are now engaged. No date has reportedly been set.

They did it BECAUSE it is filmed in Vancouver. It's fun to put in little jokes about where you live. And since many of them are from LA Canada seems chilly to them.

It could be any number of things. Perhaps their were hundreds of embrios (sp) and only a few dozen survived. When they cloned dolly the sheep it took hundreds just to get 1 lamb out of it.
I don't think they're the number of X-5 soldiers, since Tinga is X-5-656. No way there's over 600 X-5s! In the flashbacks there never seem to be more than 40 (though I suppose they could be split up into classes); besides, if there's almost 700 X-5s, why would it matter so much to Lydecker if 12 go missing?
There is a really interesting line in this episode, and I'm wondering if it was deliberate or if I've had too many English analysis classes. On the roof, Brin says she's "better" and she "remembers who she is." It sounds as though she's been brainwashed into thinking Manticore is a good place, a place that will help her and her siblings. Yet when she lets Max go, she says Max saved her life, and she's returning the favor. This suggests she thinks she is saving Max's life by *not* returning her to Manticore. Is this a nit? Is it unintentional? Is Brin breaking through the brainwashing? It was just interesting to me.
After the kidnappers station wagon crashes, the driver staggers out, and Max smashes his head against the left side passenger window, breaking the glass. Then after a reaction shot of Zack, Max opens this same door to retrieve the boy, and the shattered window is now miraculously whole again.
Brian L, you're mistaken. I taped the episode and watched it again. When Max bangs the kidnapper's head against the door, the glass vibrates but doesn't break.

Maybe the X-6 & 7's aren't fully grown yet?
No surprise to see Zach turning up at the end when he said he wouldn't. He's making a habit of this.
Sorry Butch, it shatters in my version. And yes, I have it on tape.
How very odd, on mine the window vibrates and you can see the reflection of the overhead lights dance around but, it doesn't break. Weird.
Not a bad ep but a quick question- Is it the same actor playing Zac? He looks a little different than in previous episodes.
I'm pretty sure the same actor played Zac throughout.
