FOX has announced it's new fall lineup, and fortunately, Dark Angel is still on their plate. But unfortunately, they've moved it to Friday nights at 8:00. It can't possibly do well in that slot, cause the target audience of 18-34 year olds are out partying on Fridays. It was a Friday night time slot that killed Star Trek after all.
And what has FOX put in it's old Tuesday night time slot? A Kiefer Sutherland show called "24,"
in which each episode plays out as one hour a day over the course of an entire tv season. I don't understand it either.
that 8:00 spot actually puts Dark Angel just before Farscape... probably not such a bad spot.
But consider FOX's other programming changes. On Wednesday nights, they're rolling over and playing dead, putting on what they call "Various Reruns." In essence, they're playing best of shows from "The Simpsons," "Malcolm In The Middle," and "Futurama." Why in the heck couldn't they give this time slot to Dark Angel? They're just setting it up to fail on Fridays.
I'm a long time Trek fan, but even I have no interest in "Enterprise." If FOX would put Dark Angel on Wednesdays at 8:00 opposite that, there'd be no contest for me. Enterprise what?

Also consider what FOX had in this time slot last fall. Freaky Links.
Sorry for the double post.
And Milinium was in that slot. Ever since they took The X files off of Friday nights they have been trying to set up some other young people show in that time slot. They do not understand that lightning does not strike twice. If they want something to do well on Friday night they need to put either a little kids show or a show for older adults (ie Nash Bridges, Providence)
I suspose they will bury Dark Angel next to the Lone Gunmen. (That would make Langley really happy.)
I sorta have a theory about this time change.
Fox owns Angel and Buffy (I believe) and now has Buffy on UPN (a channel with many of it's affiliates owned by Fox, apparently) and so is moving Dark Angel so as not to compete with Buffy. They didn't care about this earlier, because Buffy was on the WB, a channel with no affiliates owned by Fox.
That's just a theory though.

I'm amazed 24 doesn't have a nitpicker folder! The concept is that this is one day in the life of a CIA agent, and each episode is one hour from that day. There will be 24 episodes all shot in chronological order. Have you seen the show? Its great! I can't compare it to Dark Angel, having never seen that. But 24 seems like a nitpicker's dream come true! Just the continuity errors alone should be interesting. And the whole idea that there are 3 minute "gaps" in each day when commercials are run makes each episode have to account for what has happened during those gaps! I could go on, but this is a Dark Angel discussion.
I've seen 24 and it is very well written. I haven't found a single nit, except for the 3-minute "ad gap" above and the opening credits gap inherant in all shows.
So will this guy sleep? If so, will we be treated to an hour of snoring?
That may wind up being a nit.
He's in the middle of an attempt on a political figure's life. He doesn't have time to sleep.
Will Dark Angel make the cut for next season? I have heard that it may not make it. Anyone have more info. Thanks.
Haven't heard if it's been renewed. The producers are pulling out the stops at the end of the season though. Series creator James Cameron (Aliens, Terminator, True Lies) has directed the final episode of the season. This makes that episode the first thing he has directed since Titanic (1997)
Since they're callin git the "season finale" rather than the "series finale" I assume it's coming back for a new season. Plus, the soundtrack has just come out and the toys are due for release very soon, so I doubt FOX would simply cancel the show. It still has plenty of viewers.
They did the same thing to Futurama.
They're calling it the season finale because they don't know if it will be picked up or not, all they know is it hasn't yet and the clock is ticking.
Please pick it up!
It's already been cancelled.
It's now being repeated on two channels - SiTV (where it's been on for a while), and Sci-Fi, which just began repeating this series.
