Disappointing new version of "The Twilight Zone". The writers/producers don't seem to quite know what the appeal of the original was. Most episodes are needlessly long and all include dropping the F-bomb, which really isn't necessary. The one episode that seems to get something of the feel of the old show is "Six Degrees of Freedom"

I see I'm not alone in my disappointment with this new version of TZ (in Canada, it aired on the CityTV Network). Of course, the fact that the same people that ruined Star Trek are behind it sent out warning flags for me, but I gave it a go. I lasted maybe four episodes, before I bailed out.

I pretty much had the same problem as you did, Butch. The stories were too long (they could have been told in 20 minutes, not a full hour), the constant dropping of the f-bombs, and such.

Like Nightmare At 30,000 feet. You can see how I felt about that episode in the thread about it.

And Replay, clearly they don't know how to give a good message. Rod Serling managed to do it without whacking you over the head with it. Replay was "Message, everyone! Here's the MESSAGE!"

I wish there was an episode in which Rod Serling rises from the grave to get revenge on the CBS Swindlers for butchering his creation.

Well, I've watched the 2nd season now and I do think it's gotten better. Still too many un-needed f-bombs where a simple d*** or h*** would do, but improved.

This version has been cancelled.

Ah, just when it was getting promising.

Too late.

Don't worry about it. It would be terribly boring if we all thought the same way about everything, wouldn't it?

Sometimes I think that streaming is the worst thing that ever happened to the entertainment industry.
