Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: The Authoritative Works of Trek: Star Trek: The Next Generation: Star Trek: The Next Generation Blueprints: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D

These are the most detailed blueprints you can buy. Created by Rick Sternbach, the box includes a 13-page set of sheets that go on an overhead, deck-by-deck journey through the U.S.S. Enterprise: NCC-1701-D.

This seems to contadict the tech manual, as I could not find the duck, car etc.

Does anyone know what a 'holodeck high bay' is?

By Nathan K. on Tuesday, January 12, 1999 - 1:41 pm:

I think that the duck and the other jokes are on the wall map in engineering. There's a copy of this map towards the beginning of the tech manual. (It shows the ship from the side.) That's where the jokes are, but you might need a magnifying glass to see them.

The holodeck 'high bay' is where the holodeck (on deck 11, for instance), which is 2 decks high, stretches up into deck 10. There is no access to this area, it's just the part of the holodeck that is way high up.

Did I just take seriously what was supposed to be a joke? I do that all the time... : )

Does anyone know where the good councilers office is it seems to be missing from my version.

I know it's on one of the sheets, because it is labeled, and you can even see the curvy couch that Troi has!

I have it on the legend sheet but I cant seem to find it in the actual ship.

I am curious. (Ain't that the truth!)

No, really. The blueprints show that the Enterprise's complement of whales and dolphins is on Deck 13 of the stardrive section. I did not see their lifeboat launched in Generations. Does anyone know if they managed to escape the ship's destruction? The Tech Manual (p. 45) refers to them as "elite specialists" in guidance and navigation. Surely they would not simply be left there if Geordi said everyone was out. Perhaps someone beamed them to saucer-section holodecks and recovered them later.

While we're on the subject, the cetaceans on board seem somewhat confined. Should more areas of the ship have been made dolphin- and whale-accessible? (Or maybe that's why the hallways are so wide.)

By Merat on Tuesday, June 05, 2001 - 5:47 am:

If the dolphins could move all around the ship they might have to rename the Enterprise the SeaQuest :) However, it WOULD be pretty cool to see a starfleet officer walking down the corridor chatting with a dolphin who is in a clear tube over the UT.

They are already in the saucer section! See Blueprints Page (Screen) 9 - Squares S6 and S7/U6 and U7, S8 and S9 to U8 and U9 (Deck 13) and X2 to Z2/X4 to Z4 (Deck 14)!

As for Troi's office, I can't find it either! I suppose the most logical place would be close to sickbay on Deck 12.
