To Be Or Not To Be

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Sea Quest DSV: Season One: To Be Or Not To Be

In the second part, Dr. Westphalen calls Lieutenant Commander Hitchcock "Lieutenant." As we all know by now, the proper abbreviation for this rank is "Commander."

Gee, sure isn't very crowded around here. Well, the show did have a few good points...
I didn't care for this show much, I guess. I only remember two episodes, and I don't remember the titles. One was where they meet the god Neptune underwater and people made fun of it rehashing that TOS Trek episode. The other was when they travel 200 years into the future and the only survivors of a war are two good-looking teens.
That's the episode I feel like shredding to bits.
How convenient they live within a mile of each other they're young enough for child bearing, healthy, etc.
How can they be sure there's nobody else alive over all the 200 million square miles of the earth's surface? What about underground and underwater habitats?
At the end they destroy the computer which could have helped them avoid the mistakes of previous generations. There are plenty of other things they could have learned on their own, but the computer could have helped them with things like whether boysenberries are good to eat, how to remove boysenberry stains from your shirt, a hundred recipes for boysenberries, etc.
The computer wouldn't necessarily spoil them and make them totally dependent on it.
Sigh. Okay, now that that's off my chest...anybody else feel like nitpicking?

Both of those eps were from the abysmal season 2. Each season was so different that Seaquest was basically 3 different shows.
Season 1: Star Trek underwater
Season 2: Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea: the Next Generation
Season 3: Sci-fi B-movie about war in the future

Season 1: Great
Season 2: Ok
Season 3: Stunk

Makes me worry about the other Rockne S. Obannon show, Farscape.

I think the 3rd season was fantastic. But obvious it was too late to recover from the disaster of the 2nd season.

Although watching the episodes again on Space, reminded me of why I watched the show in the first place. It had its moments.

Hey, "just one more guy," thanks a lot for not bothering to post in the correct board. Moderator, can we delete or otherwise move this post elsewhere?
