Please add the receipes and the effects of potions used in the HP-Books. And be careful, Muggles should not try to mix this potions, it needs some magic to be successfull :-)
Polyjuice Potion (CoS): don't ask me for the recipe since I haven't got the books with me - it got Boomslang Skin in it, that's for sure; and lacewing flies; and a piece of the person you want to change into. It's a gooey sort of green liquid, I think.
Effects: If done well, it will change your appearance into that of another person for one hour. If you use it to transform into an animal (by adding a bit of an animal), you'll end up half-human, half-animal (like Hermione did with a cat tail and cat ears).
Draught of Living Dead (PS/SS): powerful sleeping draught. Has asphodel and wormwood in it, but we don't know if they are the only ingredients.
Wolfsbane Potion (PoA): used to make a werewolf harmless - he or she will still transform but not be agressive. Must be drunk while steaming. Might have Wolfsbane in it, but that's just a theory.
netrat: It's a gooey sort of green liquid, I think.
Luigi Novi: It looked like bubbling mud. As for the color, the one made from Millicent Bulstrode's cat's hair was yellow, Goyle's was the khaki color of a booger, and Crabbe's a dark murky brown.
In the book or in the film? I can't remember.
Then there are:
- Shrinking Solution
- Skele-Gro (might be a potion or just an extract from a plant, like Bubotuber)
- the Mandrake Restorative Potion
That's just off the top of my head, though.
Since this board pertains to the novels, I referred to their color from the novels. In the movie, it's a dark green color, IIRC, and does not change color when the final ingredients are added.
netrat: Wolfsbane Potion (PoA): used to make a werewolf harmless - he or she will still transform but not be agressive. Must be drunk while steaming. Might have Wolfsbane in it, but that's just a theory
The Wolfsbane Potion tasts ugly, and unfortunately it does not work, when sugar is added.
