I'd like to post my comments on Peter David's books Knight Life and One Knight Only. Can someone please create a Peter David board under the list of authors?
Pretty please??
Since it's only two books, they'll be going up in the Other Novels board.
Actually, Gordon, I might've wanted to comment on his other novels too, like his Sir Apropos of Nothing series, the third book of which just came out, and possibly his Star Trek New Frontier series.
I only have the reviews written for those first two, yeah, but I might write them for others of his works too, like his Incredible Hulk novel or his if the occassion arises.
Is there some reason he doesn't merit a board on the main Authors List?
I believe you can comment on the New Frontier books over in the Star Trek Novels topic.
As for the Incredible Hulk book (or any novel based on a comic book character) you could go to the Comic Books topic.
There is now a section in Comic Books for discussing Novels based on Comics. Go to the Comic Books Gutter & go to Stuff Based on Comic Books.
It's my policy that an author gets his/her/its own section if there are at least three books to put up. If and when you send me the names of these books, Mr. David will get his own section.
Okay. I'll probably write my thoughts on the third Apropos novel, Tong Lashing, which I'm reading now, and maybe, as with One Knight Only, I'll go back and give my thoughts on the first two as well.
Thanks, Gordon.
Well, why not tell me the titles of the other two for the sake of completeness.
Ok. The first book was Sir Apropos of Nothing. The second book was called The Woad to Wuin (No, that's not a misspelling ), and as aforementioned, book three is Tong Lashing (also not a misspelling).
Still in the beginning of the book, I just got to the part in the book today while commuting to, from and during work where the story really takes off when the characters play (I'm not kidding here) a role-playing game!
There's also David Gemmell, he is a very prolific writer, but I'll get back to you with a list of novels.
What about David Drake's Lord of the Isles series?
Right now, the list is:
Lord of the Isles
Queen of Demons
Mistress of the Catacombs
Servant of the Dragon
Queen of the Ice Realm
Sorry, the last is Goddess of the Ice Realm.
How about Neil Gaiman?
Hey Paddy. Long time no see. And yeah, Neil Gaiman rules!
I'll look into it.
How about Jim Butcher? The Dresden Files are fantastic and so is The Codex Alera series.
I'm not so sure. While I enjoy The Dresden Files, they're likely a bit too graphic for what is permissable here. I'm not familiar with his Codex Alera series.
