Good News! Sunday night a new episode airs on Fox at 8:30 Central 9:30 Eastern (or if you prefer, when the second half of the X-Files normaly airs). Hopefully, it will not be preempted by Football, or Mulder.

No, instead we'll preempt it for How The LICC Saved Kwistanakahdon.

Well, at least it's not football.

Are you ready for some football?

"No!", yells the vast armada of Futurama fans.

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Ha ha, fun episode. I noticed some Trek references so I'll list 'em.

1. The fireplace cover is shaped like the station doors on DS9.

2. Leela trys to defeat Robot Santa with a logical paradox as in the TOS episode "The Changeling".

3. Two 47's. a: Kwanzabot has been making the rounds for 647 years.

b: One of the numbers generated by the random number generator is 47.

4. The shielding around Planet Express looks like the shielding used on Sarjenka's planet in the TNG episode "Pen Pals".

5. This one may be me mis-remembering but, I thought the old toys strewn around Neptune resembled those shown at the beginning of the TOS episode "Miri".

I'll let someone else point out the pop culture references.

Actually, I think we saw the fireplace cover in the other Christmas episode. Good spotting on the trek references.

Good news everyone!

I've found a nit in this episode. Why do they need fireplaces in the 31st century? Shouldn't they be using electricity, and anti-matter reactor, or even propane and propane accesories to heat the building.

Same reason why houses have them today, for decoration. I suspect allmost all of the people with fire places have much more efficent ways of heating their house

I think this episode was good. Not sure why it got the warning and was pushed back, I thought violence against robots was ok (see Samurai Jack)

Apparently Neptune has undergone some alterations between now and then. I believe that the current theories are that Neptune is mostly atmosphere, but here it has an ice covered North Pole. Also Leela & Fry can breath, not be crushed by Neptune's greater gravity or atmospheric pressure and they are able to see despite Neptune being too far away from the sun to have the lighting we see in this ep.

Amazingly the courtroom guards allowed Prof Farnsworth to carry a gun into court.

Butch, I thought the shielding was more like the Batmobile's armor in the movies or Admiral Janeway's shuttle armor in Endgame.

By Butch Brookshier on Thursday, December 27, 2001 - 6:31 pm:

Or possibly like the shields in "Forbidden Planet". I suspect the Batmobile was what they had in mind but, hey I think all the interpretations so far are reasonable.

I like the "Badger" line. Hyper Chicken Rules.
