Syndication, the home of all good sci-fi shows

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Futurama: The Kitchen Sink of the Future: Syndication, the home of all good sci-fi shows

Now that Futurama is about to show it's last episode, does any one know when and if it will be shown in syndication in the States.

By KAM on Sunday, April 21, 2002 - 4:28 am:

According to an article in my paper most of Futurama's 5th season has been completed. While Fox may hate the show I can't see them just letting that production money going to waste. (So while it's possible that a sixth season may not be produced it sounds like there is a year's worth of new eps to go.)

BTW Syndication isn't picky. Good or bad doesn't matter. It just matters that there is enough shows. (Look at Lost In Space, Third Rock From The Sun & Voyager. Would you call any of those good?)

So...is it the end of Futurama on Fox or not?

By Chris Booton (Cbooton) on Sunday, April 21, 2002 - 3:28 pm:

Sigh yet another great show cancelled by fox far before it's time. I hear they have also canceled family guy. What are the exec's thinking?

What are the exec's thinking

We aren't raking in the huge ratings!

By Another of Those Fox Executives on Sunday, April 21, 2002 - 3:49 pm:

And it couldn't be because we don't air the things at a consistent time. I mean, pre-empting and changing timeslots can't hurt a show, can it?

Futurama-fans with access to Cartoon Network, may start to rejoice.

CN bought the right to rerun all 72 Futurama episodes for the next 5 years, in a non-exclusive deal. Futurama will be part of CN's Adult Swim lineup, starting this January.

You were assuming that they were of course, thinking.

By Rene on Monday, February 10, 2003 - 12:38 pm:

So...what happened to the show? It seems to have vanished?!

By Josh M on Monday, February 10, 2003 - 12:58 pm:

Cartoon Network shows the reruns every night at I believe 11 ET.

Fox, on the other hand, hasn't aired an episode in weeks.

By Teral on Monday, February 10, 2003 - 2:32 pm:

FOX wont air new Futurama episodes the next couple of weeks.

Sun 09th: No Futurama (preemtped for King of the Hill repeat)
Sun 16th: No Futurama (preempted for King of the Hill)
Sun 23rd: No Futurama (preempted for Simpsons repeat)

March 2nd still looks promising for a new episode, as sweeps will be over.

Until then you can watch Futurama Sunday through Thursday on CN, as Josh mentioned.

By Chris Diehl on Saturday, August 09, 2003 - 11:58 am:

Cartoon Network doesn't show Futurama, or they show it at some insane time of day and I never see it. In its place at 11 PM, they show Home Movies (like I care). However, TBS shows Futurama at 2 PM during the week, with Family Guy, a repeat of what was on CN the previous night, after it.
