4ACV07 Jurassic Bark

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Futurama: Season Four: 4ACV07 Jurassic Bark
Bender gets jealous when Fry plans to clone his pet dog from the 20th Century.

I already have a nit for this episode. The title refers to a cloned dog from the 20th century. The Jurassic Period ended 65 million years before Fry was defrosted, not 1000 years.

How?

It's a joke title, Charles. Relax.

Charles: The Jurassic Period ended 65 million years before Fry was defrosted, not 1000 years.

Actually, it was the Cretaceous Period which ended about 65 million years previously before now. It signalled the end of the Mesozoic Era. The Jurassic Period, the middle of the three Mesozoic Era geologic periods, ended about 135 million years before the present day, while the first of these, the Triassic Period, ended about 195 million years before today.

And yes, I'm lumping Futurama's time period together with ours in this post, since on a geological scale it is a mere eyeblink of an eyeblink.

It is my duty as a NitPicker to point this out. :)

STUPID FOOTBALL

Oh, this episode was so sad. I think I may need therapy.

To the person with the Football compaint, do you live on the West Coast? It aired at the ususal time here in the East.

PS They should really reserve the 7pm Sunday ET slot for a mid-season replacement.

I get Futurama from Buffalo and the football completly preempted it. I had to switch to global to watch the Simpons because the game was still on!

Yeah, the ending of this episode always tears me up. All the episodes about Fry's past have that effect. Well, until Bender wants to mangle the corpse.

Amazing how Futurama has managed, in the space of a single minute at the end of this episode, to definitively trump The Simpsons, Family Guy, and South Park to take the title of best animated sitcom on television.
