Amazing. Out of curiosity, after watching this episode, I checked the first episode. In one shot, as Fry falls into the cryogenic thingy, you actually see Nibbler's shadow.
Oh yeah and Fry isn't too bright. Didn't he realize preventing his trip to the future would also prevent his birth?
And by preventing his being sucked into that other universe, he woulden't be able to tell Nibler to give him a better escape vehicle.
Temporal Paradoxes, they give me a headache.
BTW, was the "gather all the information on the universe and then destroy it" a superman reference (ie brainiac)?
And in the episode "Jurassic Bark", in the flashback to when Fry falls into the cryogenic chamber, there are a couple of interesting shots. In one, you can see Nibbler's eye and in the other, you can see Nibbler and Fry's shadows.

The Niblonians at this point seem to be not only superior but often know what goes on in the universe. Yet as two DVD movies have shown, they did not know what happened to a group of them on one lost ship, and it turns out Nibbler got together with Lela and Fry by accident (it was not preplanned . . . nd I won't even get into their vulnerability to chairs. ).
