Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Futurama: Season Two: 2ACV06- Lesser of Two Evils

On a visit to Past-O-rama theme park, Fry gets on a car and loses control of it. He ends up hitting a robot that looks suspiciously like Bender. Named Flexo, the robot teases Fry and plays pranks on him. Fry thinks Flexo is an evil version of Bender.

On a mission to deliver a rare atom for the tiara in the Miss Universe contest, Leela assigns Flexo, Bender, and Fry to guard the atom. When Fry wakes up, both Flexo and the atom are gone.

They find Flexo. During the talent competition, Bender and Flexo battle it out. The atom is found inside Bender's cavity. As it turns out, Bender is the evil Bender. Flexo is disgusted but ends up getting arrested. Due to a misunderstanding, Leela (who earlier on had mocked beauty pageants) is briefly named Miss Universe. Unfortunately, her tiara and bouquet are given to Miss Vega Four.

The historical errors in Past-O-Rama were funny, but it leads to the same question I had in The Series Has Landed. Why didn't anyone interview the unfrozen 20th century people and/or the heads from the head museum?

Did the Crushinator's voice change? I thought she had a southern accent & a higher voice in The Series Has Landed.

I hope that we haven't seen the last of Flexo. He was pretty cool.

Nit: When they hit Flexo, the airbags deploy. However, the car is an AMC Pacer, wich had no airbags.
