2ACV13- Bender Gets Made
This my first offical TV synopsis so here goes:
Bender and friends go to a taping of Elzar's cooking show. Due to Bender's overexcitment, Leela gets shot in the eye with a spice weazel. To make it up to Leela, Elzar agrees to cook a fancy meal at his resturant.
The bill comes to $1200. Since the Planet Express crew dosen't have that kind of money, Bender agrees to work for Elzar to make it even. Bender quits and joins the Robot Mafia. Their first job is to rob a shipment of Zuban cigars... from Planet Express. The robbery goes as planned, but Bender decides to leave Organized ctime for his one true passion--disorganized crime.
Moral of the Story: Every one, even Mobsters, will get replaced by robots.
nit: Why can Amy (or Amy's Parents) just pay the bill. THey can afford an entire Sorority, so $1200 isn't that much.
anti-nit: Bullets will work in space. 20th century gunpowder usually has enough oxidizers (substances that make oxygen) to fire in space. However, the noise in space is wrong.
I belive that this is the first use of bullets in outer space on a sci-fi show.

When Leela crashed the ship the wrong way through the roof Hermes turns to Zoidberg and goes: "That's coming out of your check..."
"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" (starts crying)
I wonder why Hermes blamed him and takes the money from his check?
By John Lange on Monday, May 08, 2000 - 6:48 pm: Yes, it is true that many of the cast members will insult Zoidberg, but Hermes tends to be completely irrational and obsessive in his treatment of him.
"We can't afford that! Especially not Zoidberg!" is said by Hermes in this episode as well.
Most of the other comments at Zoidberg's expense in other episodes are actually reasonable, given the circumstances, but Hermes does go too far.
