A United States satellite fires a laser, destroying a city in the middle east. Meanwhile, Talmadge starts ranting and then goes collapses, due to emotional stress, especially after learning that his girlfriend has left him. The NSA comes in and puts Ramsey in charge temporarily. Nate, of course, makes changes such as making Donovan the chrononaut, trying to charm Olga and getting Parker sent back to Hansen's Island. There, Parker sees Talmadge, who is severely drugged. Meanwhile, the terrorist is tracked and placed under arrest.
Mentor breaks Frank out using forged documents, and they plot with Donovan and Olga to Backstep. Ramsey gets hold of it, and the NSA shows up. They get a call that Talmadge died of an anuerysm and convince Nate to let them backstep because of an NSA coverup to get someone that the NSA trusts in charge of Backstep. Frank backsteps and all is as it was, Talmadge undergoes treatment, and they buy a car for Talmadge, and he goes to spend time with his girlfriend.

If you look carefully at his hand, you shall notice a wedding ring. Yet, he is clearly only dating the woman who appears in this episode. As a matter of fact, she is addressed as his girlfriend. Unless, of course, he and his wife are not exactly maintaining their wedding vows, if you catch my drift.
