Crystal Blue Persuasion

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Seven Days: Season Three: Crystal Blue Persuasion
An American spacecraft enters docks with an alien spacecraft orbiting the Earth's moon. The team cuts into the hull and enters, back a myserious gas releases from a conduit. Only one of the astronauts makes it back to the human spacecraft before the alien ship explodes.

The surviving astronaut, William Streck, is a real ladies man ala John Kennedy Jr.; his family is as well known as the Kennedies. Streck comes to backstep in the hopes they can help him deal with the loss and figure out some of the alien craft's mysteries, since they have the Roswell technology at the base. Streck and Olga have an affair, and Frank sees this. It is against regulations and he reports it, but Olga and Streck take off for a hotel. There, after making love to Olga, Streck seduces a hotel worker.

Frank and Craig find that Olga used one of Frank's blood tests in Streck's place; they follow the trail. Meanwhile, Olga feels sick, goes to a hospital and does a sonogram on herself. She is pregnant with four alien babies. Frank tracks and manages to impale Streck, eventually killing him, but some alien blood entered an open wound during the fight.

Franks knocks out Olga and returns her to Never Never Land, where she tells Frank that she loves him and he needs to help her raise the babies. Frank is suiting up to Backstep when a young female assistant starts to make out with him. After hitting Isaac, Frank stops, and Isaac talks with Talmadge about how Frank may end up taking the virus with him, similar to The Gettysburg Virus.

When in the Sphere, they wait for an overload so that Frank catches on fire, eliminating the virus by making it so hot, it cannot survive. The Backstep proceeds and the American spacecraft is ordered to destroy alien spacecraft instead of docking, which they do. Olga is left to fanatasize about Streck, while Frank unsuccessfully tries to come on to her again.

For a moment there I thought that this was
going to turn into another "They've killed
Donovan Again!"episode.

Are these the same aliens that they got the
Roswell technology from?

Exactly WHY is there an alien ship in orbit
near the Earth?

The decryption program looked the same as the one used in Lifeboat, including the same alien symbols. As for why the ship was near Earth, who knows?

My father pointed out that the rank insignia on Streck is inconsistent throughout the episode. You think they could get someone to check this? Of course, given what he did with Olga, it doesn't surprise me his unfiorm got roughed up.
