A Navy captain who is an old flame of Franks's (the relationship ended badly) takes command of a battleship on a shot tour off the coast of Taiwan. One of the Joint Chiefs of Staff comes aboard and ends up taking command after a tense situation. The battleship plays cat and mouse with a Chinese sub, and eventually the battleship is destroyed. Frank backsteps to save the ship, and is surprised to learn his former girlfriend is in charge. But when the admiral takes command, both the old flame and Frank suspect these is more to the admiral than meets the eye...
