if the Space-Time Wash is our Sink, then surely there should be Eddies in it… Those of you who have read the Hitchhikers' Guides to the Galaxy will get this!

BELGIUM BELGIUM BELGIUM!!!!!

How can you even stand to say B*lgium? It should really be only used in Serious Screenplays…

Now on to the paradoxes (Dr. Kildare and Ben Casey MD)...

1. Why is Backstep operational? They weren't going to be ready for a year, when they had to put it into operation when the terrorists blew up the White House. Once Parker backstepped and fixed that, then Backstep wouldn't be rushed into operation.

2. Why isn't Parker still in the looney bin? After he backstepped and stopped the bombing in episode 1, then Backstep would have no reason to go get him out of there...

PS: if there are any Parker/Olga 'shippers out there, don't you dare raise your heads!

ScottN,

1) The sphere of seven days ago is apparently replaced by the arrival of the sphere from a contingent future, thus all the modifications that would enable the sphere to be operative have already been installed into this particular sphere. To put it another way, the sphere that had journeyed back seven days during the pilot replaced its predecessor and was obviously capable of back-stepping. Recently they have been working out the kinks, in a matter of speaking.
2) Lt. Frank Parker of the past was replaced by his future counterpart, as indicated in the aforementioned explanation. The question is this: Would this vanishing act both the sphere and Lt. Frank Parker undergo apply to the situation in "Act of God?" The Backstep crew utilized former Crononaut James Rance's misplaced sphere, and it in all likelihood replaced itself.

By ScottN on Tuesday, June 29, 1999 - 12:02 am:

Ok, then why isn't the looney bin looking for an escaped inmate named Frank Parker?

By Len on Tuesday, June 29, 1999 - 7:51 am:

One would assume that the Backstep Team alerted the looney bin and took over responsibility for Frank. Which would be consistent with the fact that he appears to almost be under house arrest during the eps. Actually, is this true? Is Frank not free to come and go as he pleases? If not, how is Backstep justifying this? And how is Frank even taking it given his rebellious nature?

I'll post this here, since there isn't a "Characters" subtopic (hint hint moderator!)...

Why does Olga always refer to Frank as "Mr. Parker"? Shouldn't she call him "Lt. Parker"? Is he considered active duty or civilian?
