For The Children

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Seven Days: Season Two: For The Children
This episode was filmed during the first season and originally scheduled to air on October 20, 1999. School shootings, including the one in Littleton, CO led to it being aired at a later date.

Loved Olga's line "They happen all the time" in reference to national evergencies. And, on this show, they do!

Talmadge says that they'll have to find a new chrononaut. But Donovan's job is to be Parker's backup. Shouldn't he be elevated to the main position, seeing as how he's already had all the required training?
By Scott McClenny on Thursday, October 21, 1999 - 3:44 pm:

Jessica was played by VOYAGER's Scarlett Pomers.

Loved Parker's comment about backstepping to
heal the dogs.:)

Y'knew sooner or later Parker was bound to hit
Ramsey, just was a matter of time I guess.

Good question about Donovan, there were a couple
of times, like when Evil Frank shot Good Frank
when he could of taken over last season.

Administrator of Board:Couldn't you ask someone the plot for episode 2 to post it? I'm guessing it was the one right before For the Children, but I don't know if you might have missed one. If it is, you can use this:Dr. Ballard in cooperation with an AI specialist creates a computer program which starts to disable the world's Nuclear missles. I've even got your nit:The program whose name escapes me at the moment fixes the Y2K bug. This bug is spread out over many computers, and at the time she didn't know about the internet, so she couldn't "hack" into everyone's computer to fix it.

(I used Administrator of Board because I don't know your nick.)

My nitpicks are as numerically proceeds:
1) One of the hostages stands up and insists that the children ought to be allowed to leave. As a result, one of the terrorists confronts him and makes some type of remark. Consequently, the terrorist clocks this particular hostage on the head after the hostage replied to the terrorist's comment. Is this not a contradiction to the terrorists' rule number one (i.e., you speak only when spoken to)?
2) How come Lt. Frank Parker was frequently scratching himself in this episode? With all these discussions regarding apes and this personal observation, it causes me to perceive Lt. Frank Parker to be more simian.
3) Just prior to NSA's authorization of a Backstep after they believed an important dignitary was aboard the train, Lt. Frank Parker's hand is to his head, away from his head, and then ultimately back to his head in three sequential scenes of him sitting down at the conference table.
4) Lt. Frank Parker places his hand on the wallowing mother's shoulder to comfort her. However, in a sequential far-off shot Lt. Frank Parker's hand is not on the woman's shoulder.
5) Amanda Talmadge, Bradley Talmadge's granddaughter, has her own telephone at the age of ten?
6) Where exactly was Dr. John Ballard in this episode? I had not noticed him in any of the scenes.
7) How could Lt. Frank Parker receive images of the train disaster during the Backstep process if he had not witnessed it firsthand?
8) The older male hostage, who comes to the surface to read a message from the terrorists, speaks differently and more rapidly the second go around. I do not blame the editors, for it is rather arduous to perfectly and identically reenact the same scene.
9) Sarin gas was in a bag on board the train during its explosion, thus sarin gas ought to have been unleashed into the air. This would not be considered an emergency of national security? And if you do not believe me regarding the sarin gas, a young female hostage runs to Lt. Frank Parker with the bag containing the sarin gas and boasts, "I took it from him!"
10) The slow-motion scene of the remnant terrorist sustaining a gunshot is different between the two sequential shots.
11) How did the young hostages acquire Lt. Frank Parker's postal address? Never-Never Land is a "nonexistent" location.
By the way, Moderator, you stole my one nitpick concerning Comdr. Craig Donovan being the Crononaut successor. The early bird gets the worm.

...him sitting down at the conference table. = ...[his] sitting down at the conference table. Typo.
