Has anyone seen the DS9 regulars in anything lately?
Nana Visitor was on an episode of "The Outer Limits" on the Sci-Fi Channel last night. Not bad; a little Kira-esque at times, but on the whole pretty good.
I know the Prophets had Avery Brooks hawking IBM for a while. Terry Farrell's on Becker.
Andrew Robinson wrote the wonderful "A Stitch in Time." Haven't seen him in anything lately, but have seen him in the X-Files episode "Alpha" and in an episode of the Sentinel, as well as bad movies without number (he tends to be the best thing in them) and Hellraiser.
I guess Paul Dooley (Enabran Tain) doesn't really count, but he was on "The Practice" not too long ago, and Juliana McCarthy (Mila) was on an epsiode of NYPD Blue.
Anyone seen these MIA actors?
Alexander Siddig/Siddig El Fadil
Marc Alaimo
Casey Biggs
Armin Shimerman
Or these slightly less MIA actors?
Jeffrey Combs
Rene Auberjonois
Rene Auberjonois was in "The Patriot".
Armin Shimmerman had a short cameo in the "Buffy: TVS" finale.
Siddig did a movie in New Zealand called The Vertical Limit, which is supposed to be out in December. Other than that he's basically being a dad and husband while Nana works on stage.
Marc Alaimo sounds like he might be seriously considering retirement -- he fired his agent and hasn't hired another, and it sounds like he's not looking for parts.
Armin Shimmerman is an active force in the Screen Actors Guild, and I think he's on the negotiation team for the commercial actors' strike.
As for Andy Robinson, besides doing book promotion stuff, he's doing some stage directing.
Jeffrey Combs is (or was) filming "Faust," based on the graphic novel (not Marlowe's or Goethe's versions, at least not directly).

God I love irony!
He's everywhere, he's everywhere!
Saw Andrew Robinson last night on an episode of "Law and Order" on A & E. Accessory to a heroin dealer. Interesting role.
Auberjonois had a wonderful appearance on a sixth season episode of Chicago Hope which aired either late last year or early this year. The show has been canceled, and to my knowledge the episode only aired once. But last I checked, Chicago Hope was in reruns on Lifetime, so you'd might be able to find it there.
He played a surgeon with Torrett's (sp?) syndrome whose uncontrollable swearing scares away the parents of a potential patient. Once in the operating room, though, the total concentration required for him to perform makes the verbal ticks vanish. He gave an excellent performance.
It also was interesting to see him out of makeup after so many years on DS9 and since it has been so long since Benson ended.
Rene Auberjonois is amazing. It's hard for me to believe he was also Father Red in the film M*A*S*H. His voice has such a range; I'm always amazed listening to the Odo voice that he didn't ruin his vocal chords doing it. He, too, has been in a number of bad movies, as has Andrew Robinson, but they're both always good in them. And, shoot, I've done some thing I'm not proud of to pay the rent. :)
I'm going to be very depressed if Marc Alaimo retires. He has such a wonderful voice--he should read books on tape. He'd have a huge market among us girls who loved Gul Dukat. When he played the old-West gambler on TNG and spoke French, I turned into Jamie Lee Curtis from "A Fish Called Wanda"--"SPEAK IT, SPEAK IT!!" Sure he's Canadian (something I didn't realize until "Covenant" when he told his lover how "sore-y" he was about everything--Hey, that Cardassian is a Canadian), but I don't think we should hold that against him. ;)
Oops. Not Canadian, a fellow Wisconsinite. Color me red. I've not lived there for a while--I forgot they did the "sore-y" thing as well.
Rene Auberjonois is probably the best actor of the bunch. Too bad he didn't have more to do in The Patriot.
Marc Alaimo's retiring? Sigh. I don't recall his French accent being that good, however :)
The irony of Armin Shimerman leading a union fight is almost too funny to express. I can't bear it!
LOL
Rene Auberjonois was brilliant in "The Practice" a couple of weeks ago--"he beat his monkey!"
He has a gift for comedy that we only occasionally saw on DS9.
I hate the beard, though.
I meant to post that one, but Nitcentral was down!
Palandine, son, I'd like to tell you a story. A story about an alien who didn't know who he was. And then he found out his people were ruthless dictators who were bent on subjugating the Alpha Quadrant. But he overcame it, oh yes he did, and wound up ruling the Dominion. His name? His name was... Odo!
I believe Palandine is a female. At least "she" was in "A Stitch in Time." (Andy Robinson's Star Trek Novel)
Yep, I'm a girl However, I was amused enough by ScottN's post not to correct him on it.
God, those two stories Rene A told on The Practice were too funny. I'd be interested to know how many takes it took for everyone in the courtroom to crack up as expected while Rene kept a straight face. Genius.
Anonymous, I was imitating Rene A.'s delivery...
I don't know Palandine, I cracked up at "beat his monkey". You have to admit, the story that Jimmy told in retaliation was pretty good too...
Alexander Siddig's role seems to downplayed in "Vertical Limit" -- I can't find him in the title credits, although I think I see him in the preview.
Is that him yelling "AVALAAAAAAAANCHE!"? It sounds like him.
One-time-guest-star sighting: Brian George (Bashir's dad in "Doctor Bashir, I Presume") was on Andromeda a couple of weeks ago as a Wayist-cum-nanobot-sack.
Alexander Siddig (whatever he's called nowadays ) was in "Vertical Limit". He played a bearded climber and devout Muslim, part of the rescue party, and sporting possibly the worst Pakistani accent I have ever heard. Needless to say, he was SFX cannon-fodder.
They always seem to supply poor Sid with crappy accent coaches. (If they even bothered in "Vertical Limit" -- somehow I suspect they just told him to fake it. Accuracy wasn't exactly top priority in that movie.)
Re: Vertical Limit - did you even hear the poor attempts at an Australian, a Scot, and a Londoner in that film? Gut-wrenchingly awful!
I was busy cringing at the intermittent and rather pathetic "French Canadian" accent. :0) (I'm not familiar enough with most accents to notice bad attempts, but I do know bad Canadian accents.)
Nyaaaaargh! [cringe, cringe, cringe]
People of New York City - look out for Nana Visitor on Broadway in "Chicago", the musical! (there's even a discount for Trek fans if you go to startrek.com)
