What are your thoughts on Ezri Dax? She's a good character, although I prefer Jadzia. :(

On a related question... anyone know where I can purchase "Tears of the Prophets" on VHS? I really want to see it again :)

Yeah she's cute, and Nicole DeBoer did a pretty good job portraying her, especially in certain episodes (Field of Fire comes to mind). However, I still can't understand why Terry Farrel left. There was only one more year of DS9! And she left the show she loved to be in a CBS comedy (Becker) that hardly anyone watched (Apologies to anyone who liked that show)! Anyway, I liked Ezri. Even though she was only in the show for a year, the creators did a great job making her feel like an old friend.

As far as I have been able to determine "Tears of the Prophets" is not available on VHS or DVD...yet. I am not sure how far they have released the episodes, but I want every one of the 6th and 7th seasons when they come out. Anyone help me here?

I think they're in the fourth season in the videos. (Becker gets some of the best ratings on T.V. It's frequently in the top 20 or 30.

It wasn't Becker that killed her. It wasn't even Farrell that killed her. (She wanted Dax to get transferred elsewhere. Quite logical, since she has command experience and has commanded ships in successful missions against the Dominion before.) The creators insisted on killing her off.

I think if they wanted to do that, they should have done it better. Jadzia was a warrior. She should have had a warrior's death. Maybe taken Dukat down with her, or else abandoned the pah'wraith plot and had her die saving everyone else from a warp-core explosion or something. The character deserved a better farewell. (At the very least, the fans deserved to see her funeral onscreen.)
