Regarding your "Plot Oversight" in The Muse concerning hybrids' ability to reproduce, I always
figured this was taken care of with genetic engineering(it can be used to cure BIRTH DEFECTS)-though this was not mentioned directly in any series.

Odo studies Tavnian law to discover how to end Lwaxana's marriage, but he doesn't know how the marriage ceremony works?

The stand-up light in Odo's quarters look like a 20th century halogen light. The type that have caused curtains and other things to catch on fire.

For supposedly being stubborn, Jeyal gave in rather easily.

Maybe they're designed a retro-looking halogen light that uses 24th century technology to avoid those problems?

NANJAO: Majel Roddenberry co-wrote this episode.

Didn't Sisko ever tell his son "Don't talk to strangers"? I mean, here's an unknown alien woman, possibly hostile & he starts snuggling up to her. Bad move, Jake!

By LUIGI NOVI on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 - 9:18 pm:

It's kinda hard not to talk to strangers on a way station like DS9. If Jake didn't do this, he'd never have become friends with Nog.

By John A. Lang on Thursday, November 20, 2003 - 4:00 am:

True..but this woman just came from the airlock...which means she just got off a ship...which may have come from the Gamma Quadrant...see what I mean? Nog may have been already on the station when Jake arrived, and at least the Federation had dealings with the Ferengi, so Jake kinda knew what to expect.

No wonder Lwaxana wanted to get away from her husband so much – he doesn’t even know her name! When he is in Odo’s office, he refers to her as Luxwana!

HMMM! Kang reincarnated into Jeyal! :)

GREAT LINE:
"I would"
-Worf, responding to Odo asking Lwaxana if she'd like to go for a walk.

Interestingly enough, this is Worf's ONLY line in the episode, and yet it's(in my opinion) the best.

By dotter31 on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 - 4:55 pm:

Why does Bajoran law not apply here? In 'Dax' Sisko used the fact DS9 is Bajoran to stall a legal extradition procedure(by a Federation member) upon a Federation citizen. Why does Odo not attempt to use the same reasoning in this case?

If Odo could not do that for some reason, why not use Federation law? Lwaxana is a Federation citizen even if her marriage isn't.(Are the Tavnians members of the Federation? I wasn't clear on that point.)

The footage of the ships arriving in this episode was lifted from "The Siege".

By Mr Crusher on Monday, August 28, 2006 - 2:23 pm:

The differance is Lwaxana was being forced into a marriage, not being extradited from the station.

This was Lawaxana Troi's last appearance on any Star Trek series (thank god).

Considering this episode shows there is a cure for her brain draining powers you'd have thought she'd let her protoges get themselves fixed before she fed on them again. A lot of artists would be happy to use her as they could cure themselves after each feeding.
