Since the cardassians are supposedly a preaditor species How come all I ever saw Dukat eat was fruit? (esp the dinner scene in The Maquis)

We know that for breakfast they drink a hot cup of fish juice.(It's in the encyclopedia.) Perhaps if they drink the juice then they eat the fish, too?

I was hoping for something shown on the series to contradict my observation.

1. Dukat might be a vegatarian. Either by choice or due to a medical condition.

2. If they drink fish, that makes them a predior species in my book.

3. Perhaps Cardassian fruit is more violent than their Terran counterparts.

They eat raw Taspar Eggs, as well. They fed Picard one in "Chain of Command" (TNG)

You might forget: humans, Vulcans, Klingons, Talaxians, Betazoids, and just about every other humanoid species in the book are evolved from predators. Dukat probably wants to look refined, and I suppose someone munching daintily on an apple will look more refined than one who is gorging himself on a drumstick.

Waffles. They can't get enough of 'em. ;-)

Just because they are predators doesn't necessarily suggest they are strict carnivores... Like humans, they're probably omnivorous.
