Eastman, the moron.
I'm not sure how DS9 "never took risks."
No doubt Robert Hewitt-Wolfe appreciates his collegue's badmouthing DS9.
Well, he can kiss my ass. Insulting DS9 and Star Trek as a whole? Burn him at the stake! :p
Right, cutting off a main character's leg and making Sisko the child of a timeless alien wasn't taking risks. They had these characters experidence life changing events and, unlike many other shows, they KEPT these scars and they influenced how the character reacted in later episodes.
Should we gather a team of DS9 fans to hunt him down? ;)
Nah, lets just drop him off on that planet that Sisko rendered uninhabitable for humans but not for Cardorkians. I suspose that wasn't a risk either, the main character threatening a horrible act, then actually carrying it off.
I have a better idea: Let's stick him in a room and force him to argue with Jwb52z.
Now now...No one deserves...wait. He insulted DS9...Let's do it.
Whoa. Even THAT's something I'D never do! Gotta draw the line SOMEWHERE!
Terry Farrell thought DS9 left something to be desired, which is why she left after the 6th season.
I hear Colm Meaney also considered doing the same(because of his movie career).
No...she left because she didn't think there was anything left for Jadzia.
Except DEATH. Muahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahhahahahahahhahahahahha.
No...she left because she didn't think there was anything left for Jadzia.
Yeah, right!!
I read an interview with her in SFX magazine where she says that she was told the show would be "like Star Wars & we'd have conflict."
She also said, in that same interview, that her character didn't have the same dramatic opportunites as Odo & Quark because she was a Starfleet officer.
I've also heard her say that she should've piloted the Defiant in Star Trek: First Contact.
But if she piloted the Defiant and was beamed aboard the Enterprise E and THEN sent back in time with the rest of the Enterprise crew, what would she have done then? Would she run into her old friends from "Past Tense" who would have been a little older if not dead or mutilated?
And what has this thread got to do with Robert Hewitt Wolfe's attack on DS9?
I think it should end here.
So9
I doubt she would've run into her friends from the "Past Tense" two-parter, simply because that took place in 2024, & First Contact took place in the year 2063.
If nonthing more, it would have made intresting conflict with Troi.
Well, very ironic considering what happened and how it seems Andromeda's writers are the ones who don't wanna take risks.
Indeed, Eastman accuses some writers of not taking risks, but, given Sorbo's statements for the direction of the show, Andromeda's seem to be doing the same.
