Ok,this question ought to really stimulate some
debate.(I hope.)
IMHO DS9 is up there as either THE best or at
least one of the best Treks of all time.

TOS was the best, followed by STTNG, then by DS9.

I'd take DS9 by a hair. And that hair's name- character development. Going through the first season DVDs, I've been struck by just how much every character changed over the course of the series. Can you say that about TNG? No.

DS9, like TOS & TNG, has much to recommend it as the best Trek series. However, the same cannot be said for Voyager or Enterprise.
In other words, DS9 was the last GREAT Trek series.

I think that can be agreed upon by most everyone. I think DS9 stands as the greatest Trek series, simply because of its consistency throughout its run. It was by far the most ambitious and risk-taking series. Character development was strongest. DS9 has its fair share of embarrassingly bad episodes (such as That One Which We Do Not Name), but not nearly as many as TNG or TOS (See TNG Seasons 1-2 and TOS episodes such as "And the Children Shall Lead" and "The Way to Eden").

It's the best. :)

Well, I wouldn't say everyone, Josh. There are plenty of Voyager fans who think that show was better than DS9. UncleDick was one. And there are TOS fans who grew up with that series who think that's the best, largely because it was the first.

Here is the way I would rate the series 1. Ds9, 2. TOS, 3. TNG 4. Enterprise 5 Voyager.

Overall the story telling and character development was alot better on DS9.

on nother note i have to stick up for the original series episode" and the children shall lead" I actually thought it was a good episode.


By the way does anyone know when DS9 will be shown on Spike TV

Spike TV begins running DS9 on April 5, 2004. I don't know what time, or if it will bump a TNG episode, or TNG altogether. I couldn't find any info on the Spike TV site.

I like TNG-DS9-VOY equally, for different reasons. I'm glad they made all three.
