Do any of you think that Kai Winn redeemed herself
when she tried to help Sisko at the end? I don't
think so myself. The only reason she did it was
because she knew it wasn't profitable for her to
side with Dukat anymore. She tried to kill him,
it didn't work, so she tries to help Sisko to
defeat him. But, in my view, she was still evil
right up until the end.
It seemed to me she was kind of sorry for all she'd done at the very end, that's why she tried to help Sisko and cried "Emissary!"
Not only that she told him what to do! She was going to stop Dukat with the book (by destroying it) before he took it away from her. Then cried to Sisko, "Emissary! The book!" before Dukat has the Pagh Wraiths kill her (too fast. :P). I don't think it was just due to lack of power.
Kai Winn was evidently jealous that the Pah Wraiths chose Dukat as their Emissary over her.
The less cynical side of me says that Adomi Winn was at least partly sorry for what she did.
Technically, it's Winn Adami, since the Bajorans follow the Japanese/Chinese method of naming.
I've thought about this carefully, and I agree with Alfonso and norman.
BTW, Louise Fletcher is a really good actor!
Me too! I thought she looked like she was afraid for the future of the galaxy! She only wanted the glory of the Emmissary of the Pah'waiths. She didn't want what Dukat wanted.
Because she found out the real horrible reason that the Pah'waiths wanted to be free, she then was sorry. I really believe there was always a caring side to Winn.Maybe she is like that in the mirror universe.
