The entire show got really good in the third season, but then the fourth was a little short and tired in some ways. But by the next season, it was cool again. Basically, it went (Chronologically) from boring to less boring to cool to short and kinda corny to exciting and well done to a little tired to cool again. There have been some garbage episodes but as a whole, it is my favorite series next to NEXTGEN.
Sisko-Boring, serious, angry guy in the first two seasons to cool, calm leader. He didn't really bond with his son until the middle of the series. In the flashbacks in the last episode, I cried the most when it shows him hugging and laughing and loving his son.
Kira-PO'd Bajoran to "Sexy", happy officer (I like this though).
Jadzia-Aloof, dull young woman to Klingon-hugging, Dabo-playing, Smiling friend (Like her more in her last few episodes than in the first few).
Jake-Kid to adult, maybe too much like Wesley Crusher, but still a great improvement over the years...Last shot of DS9, seeing him all alone and Kira hugs him, fade to black as DS9 disappears into the darkness... a girl named Jennifer Hartman Sobs...
Bashir-Happy go-getter early on, but became a strong, "Sexy" doctor (I like that word!). Great in the last few seasons, especially as the James Bond guy in the fourth season. One thing they did wrong with his character was he was too lonely. I was sad to see everyone go in the last episode, but mmost of all, I was crying for him, a great guy with no one to love him (Except "Ezri the Chipmunk" who I really didn't like).
Nog-Annoying Ferengi to annoying starfleet go-getter. So he's already a Lieutenant and harry Kim of voyager is still a freakin Ensign?!?
Dukat-Somewhat audacious Cardassian leader early on to evil personified in the last few seasons (Esp. in the one where he fights Sisko in the caves).
Gotta go, see ya later!

I like that term, the strong sexy doctor to c\desribe Bashir as well. I think that enlightnment to his genetic enhancements probably scared off alot of Female intenders. Showing him as lonely didn't fit well with me as well. but I was thinking that he put himself into that situation. He was constantly going off with a new attraction. Always stating he wasn't a family man. His feeling
of freakness come off too strongly.
I like Ezri, I think she is alot stronger that many think she is. And I think she is good for Julian. They do have alot in common, and both need each other. Having him with a partner at the end, gives me a feeling that this is his reward. I like to think there will be movies of them in the future, and they're married already. I can see it!!

It would've been nice to see something come of Bashir and Jadzia, though. Even though I didn't mind the Worf/Jadzia relationship that much....

One of the reasons many felt DS9 was a good series was because of the changes in the characters. They didn't just stay the same for seven seasons, they grew, they learned, they became darker or more filled with light, they became moodier or they lightened up. I think it was really a sign of DS9's good characterization.
