They Call the Wind Korea

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: M*A*S*H: Season Seven: They Call the Wind Korea

Plot A: A heavy windstorm has everyone preparing for the worst. Nurse Bigelow and several others are injured when the water tower falls, a number of civilians are injured by wind-related accidents, and Radar's guinea pig is missing.
Plot B: Charles is attempting to get to Tokyo, but he and Klinger get lost and find some injured Greek soldiers, one of whom needs urgent medical attention.

I thought it a good touch to show Margaret's concern when one of her own was hurt. I know really crusty nurses who would be frantic if one of their was a patient, so I liked this show of emotion by Margaret.

I also liked it that Charles showed a vulnerable side, and turned to Klinger for comfort. Plus, insertion of a chest tube is a pretty ipressive thing, under those conditions! Kudos, Major.

One touch from Klinger that I always liked--as they prepared to operate on the wounded Greek, Klinger put his hand over the man's eyes so that he would not see what was happening.

I wonder if Klinger ever rubbed it in that, if Charles had let him go look around a little after they found the Greeks, they could have spent the night back in camp.

This is, of course, the episode where Potter does the painting of his thumb. It's in the opening shot of the ep.

Potter mentions "Little Egypt", in addition to being a hit song by the Coasters in the '50s, there really was a dancer by the name of Little Egypt. She began performing in 1893, I believe.

This is the first time Charles got a vacation from the 4077th?! Wow, he really put some time in.

While Charles and Klinger are racing to the airport, you can see, on Charles' side of the jeep, a reflection of the car filming them. It's that blue steak on the hood of the jeep.

The MP who stops Charles and Max, isn't he the same one from "Welcome to Korea"? I know we've seen him before.

Why didn't Radar put his animals in the VIP tent? We know from the episode, "Lil" that he has kept them there at least once before.

Looking at the sky as Winchester and Klinger are driving to Seoul, I couldn't help but marvel at how blue the skies were.

Shouldn't Charles have sterilized Klinger's knife? Remember when Father Mulcahy did his on the road surgery, he was told to sterilize his Tom Mix pocket knife.

"All that good whiskey shot to hell."
