Plot: A famous general dies under inappropriate circumstances, and his aide tries to make it look as though he died heroically in battle.

This episode leaves you wondering what other welll-known personages have had the facts of their deaths altered....

Margaret has come a long way from this episode. She was willing to sleep with a total stranger, just because he was a general.

Did anyone else notice a goof in this episode? Watch Margaret's hair during the scene where Frank is in her tent and has just sat on the General's star. It starts out wet, then for one brief instant it is dry, then wet again. It looks like they just stuck some footage in this scene.

Why did the Colonel order the MPs to take the General's body to G-sector, where they only had diarrhea? He and Radar had already located a place near Inchon that was in the midst of fighting.

So, did the General and Margaret actually do anything? He was fully clothed on her bed. Did he not undress, or did Margaret re-dress him before running for help, or did he die before things got interesting?

Pardon my ignorance, but Colonel Wortman introduces Kelly as "Lieutenant General" Kelly. I've never heard of that rank. Judging by the stars on his helmet (and on the surgical cap he wore in OR), he's a three-star general. Is a Lt. General the same thing as a three-star General?

I believe the bit where Henry asks what the Franistan Plan is and the explanation of it has been cut for syndication. The Franistan Plan was allegedly a plan to make crankcase oil edible after 500 miles...

Did Wortman intend to expose the General's body to artillery fire and hope it gets hit? Otherwise, the General's corpse would be untouched, leaving the diagnosis of a combat related injury questionable. But if the General's dead body is wounded in combat, it's not likely to bleed much, thus giving less credence to the idea that Kelly died as a result of enemy fire. So just what did Wortman plan to do with Kelly's body at the front?

Radar and Wortman check Hill 413 and other locale for heavy fighting. If any of these front lines are near the 4077th, surely Radar - and the rest of the unit - would know that there's been heavy fighting there. The camp would be prepping for the casualties that would be sure to follow.

Given that the "business girls" were all in one tent, I'm wondering just what Igor and the other enlisted men were doing with them? I somehow doubt it was anything sexual, seeing that they were all in one place and were all ready to go at the same time. You'd think a few of the girls would be elsewhere in the camp if they were engaging in any sexual practices.

Wortman orders Kelly's body to be sent to "G" Sector, where there is only diarrhea. The Colonel declares that he'll provide the fighting. I'm amazed that Pierce and McIntyre do not protest this action. In all likelihood, it means that the 4077th will soon be expecting casualties, many of whom will die or simply be wounded, just so Kelly can die an more "suitable" death. Surely, the two surgeons would find that to be objectionable?

Incidentally, Wortman's "I'll provide the fighting" line reminds me of a similar line in the movie Citizen Kane. Kane tells one of reporters, "You provide the purple prose. I'll provide the war."

That's strange. Jeff Maxwell is listed in the credits as playing "G.I." Why didn't they simply list him as Igor, his regular character?

Three stars stands for a Lieutenant General. One star indicates a Brigadier General, and two a Major General. A General of the Army has four stars, I think, and I can't remember what the rank that gets five stars is called.

Thanks for the clarification, Chris!

I thought a 5 star was a General of the Army.

Yep. According to the Army:

First mention of Rosie's.

I believe Margaret has called Frank 'Ferret Face' more than Pierce or McIntyre at this point.
