You can also try The Adrenaline Vault, Gamespot, Gamezilla and PCGameworld, as well as many, many others.

If you can't run a game without the CD but you need to for some reason, Megagames is great. ;)

I used to think that all games that are fully installed off of the disk(s) wouldn't even need the only (or first) disk to play them, but some still do. Why? The full installation should be enough, shouldn't it?

Copy protection, usually. Luckily cracking the games solves this.

I have more time now so I'll add some more links:

Roger Wilco is a small program, but it is really good for online chat with a microphone, because it uses so little bandwidth. It is easy to use, and you just give a number to others, and they join. This makes in-game communication with a microphone perfectly possible, often adding to the fun of the games, in my experience.

Reget is my favourite download resumer, ensuring those who want to download big files can pause the downloads, connect to the `net later and continue them without hassle.

Download.com has some great Windows utilities and everything you ever thought you might need.

Peter.

Netscape's home page had a link to a pcworld.com article on really weird computer games which look like fun. Some are free.

Weirdest Arcade Games

Claw your opponent in a chicken fight, shoot at enemies with aspirin tablets, and play shuffleboard with elves.

Here's part of it:
