Monkey Island Series

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: PC Games: The Games: Monkey Island Series

I didn't know if people wanted a board for such adventure games, but the monkey island series has so many problems in the plot it isn't even funny.

In Curse of Monkey Island it was apparently Lechuck who pushed Marley into a whirlpool. In Escape from Monkey Island, it apparently was Ozzie Mandrill. Plus, if Herman Toothrot allways was H. T. Marley, and if he got to Monkey Island through that whirlpool, then who was the guy that sailed to Monkey Island on the goodship Sea Monkey. Also in EMI, H. T. Marley is allways refered to as Govenor. Before he was a Captain of a merchant vessel.

Monkey Island is one of my all time fave series (that next to Spellcaster and the continuing adventures of Tex Murphy). Guybrush was such a loser, but he always managed to save the day. He really should get with Elaine by now. LeChuck practically has travel benefits between land of living and dead. Can't wait for new one!!

This site has a list of errors, funny things and in-jokes about the four games.

By How appropriate. You fight like Sven of Nine. on Saturday, July 27, 2002 - 10:09 pm:

Then again, it was Darth Vader who apparently betrayed and murdered Anakin Skywalker. :O :O :O

In fact, that whole changed premise was explained in a sort-of anti-nit in one of the later links to the page I highlighted above.

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!

Now this is what I call a particularly EEEEEVILLL set of games! I particularly like the third one, for obvious reasons, though they could have done more with the fourth. MUCH more!

MWA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HAAAAAAAAAGH!

Don't make me spin your skull around, Murray.
