I'm at the end of my rope. Playing as Worf, I simply cannot find the Ulysses. Where in the heck is it? Can anyone give me directions? I've been to every cheat board/walkthrough I can find, and no one has any info on this.

Well, Brian, when I load and play the game I'll let you know, if I find out myself before anyone else does. Is it pretty fun so far? How do you think it compares to Elite Force? I'm not yet done with that game and if I get an acc card I'll replay it cuz it doesn't look so good without one. I'm stuck somewhere on that alien ship and can't find how to get thru that level, but then I haven't played it for awhile cuz of being so busy with Half-Life and Opposing Force, the latter of which I'm stuck at the end of the first level where you move that cart up to that tram and get on to move to the next level, but when I do that I get a error message, something about a monster stuck in a wall. Weird.

I'm actually digging The Fallen much more than Elite Force, mainly because it's three games in one. Each character (Worf, Kira, and Sisko) has their own set of missions, and you have to play all three to truly finish the game. (Please do Worf's first - I'm dying to know where that darn ship is!) : )

BTW. Here's a great board if you have Elite Force questions, so other gamers can help you:

Brian, does the guy who voices Sisko in "The Fallen" do a decent job?

By Brian Lombard on Sunday, January 14, 2001 - 1:34 pm:

If I'm not mistaken, it's actor Ron Canada, who had a score of Trek credits. He's been a human, a Klingon, and a Malon. You may remember him from the TNG ep, "The Masterpiece Society," as the man who was so against Hannah interacting with outsiders.

That said, no, I miss Avery Brooks! O'Brien is only slightly better. No Colm Meaney.

Thanks, Brian. I bookmarked that page but I doubt I'll go there very often. All the same it's good to keep in mind. BTW, I made it thru where I was stuck in HL:OF but only cuz I had no choice but to go to the exact next map, which thankfully worked. If you, or anyone else here, haven't played the game every so often you enter a new map area, which is indicated when "Loading..." pops up. I guess that's pretty normal for PC games, though, huh? Anyway, I had to use cheats to restore my weapons and ammo.

Hmm. Now that's funny. I've wondered how some people here created those smiley faces and here I did it without realizing it till I previewed my post. I meant to use the initials for Half-Life: Opposing Force, colon included.

Yeah, I finally found the ship. Turned out to be a tech support problem. If any of you guys get similarly stuck, let me know, and I'll help you out.

Thanks, Brian. I'll try to keep that in mind.

Well, I'm getting a P4, 1.3ghz system so I can finally try this game and Elite Force again! It's a Dell, and word of advice to anyone wanting one, don't let them sucker you into buying something you don't want, even if you're just calling to ask about various things about Dell and their systems. They did that to me, but I'm sure pretty much any salesperson will try that with you. Listen to them very carefully to how they speak to you and be on your best lookout. Don't let them think you're interested right now cuz they'll take it as affirmation that you are and they'll pounce on that for all they can get.

The guy I talked with was subtle but I was aware of it and told him repeatedly that I didn't want to buy a computer right now, cuz I was holding out for a 1.7 when they came down in price. Well, he went ahead and set me up with a system anyway and said I could cancel it within the next 24 hours if I didn't want it (why do they do that? No means no. Deal with it). Well, I'd forgotten about that and last Friday UPS delivered a new Dell to my door. I told them to take it back cuz I hadn't ordered it and only talked to the guy at Dell and told him I wasn't buying one just yet. I called Dell the other day and they subtley manipulated me into buying this system I ordered, even though I wanted a 1.7ghz with a 60 or so gig harddrive (I preferred an 80 at 7,200rpm but their 80s were only 5,400rpm), their biggest at 7,200rpm. Mine's got a 40, the lowest I intended to go, but it's still 5x bigger than my measly 8gig, so I still have plenty of space.

Anyway, I didn't want this system in part cuz it was $1,868,31! I can't afford that and told them so. Well, they offered me $300 off, plus the $150 mail-in rebate that was going on at the time I first called (so it was still valid, as was the free year of MSN, even though they both were otherwise no longer offered), plus another $180 off if I didn't want the monitor (I'd rather look at one in person to see how good it is first; my current one will do for now). So, with a total of $630 off it came to $1,238.31, which I can do with a down payment and monthly payments. Beware of those cuz they're more per month than the ads say, cuz they factor in finance charges. It's basically a rent-to-own scam but for now it's the only way I can go for a new system.

So, even though it's not quite the system I wanted I still hope to enjoy it as much as possible with games now, and anyway, I can always upgrade it, maybe even with the CPU, which someone at work says, from what he's heard, that replacing CPUs isn't as hard as most people would think. Good.

I finally installed this game and though I haven't played it as of this writing, I was going thru the VOICES credits at the back of the miniscule booklet that comes in the jewel case and saw that David Graf (Police Academy's gun fanatic Hightower) did 3 voices, and I wondered if maybe this was amongst the last acting gigs he did cuz he died late last month or earlier this month. BTW, that's really more of a rheotorical statement.

By Brian Lombard on Thursday, August 09, 2001 - 1:01 pm:

Graf's final role was in an episode of "Son Of The Beach," filmed in spring 2001. DS9: The Fallen was out around Christmas, so no, it wasn't his last role.
