The Grid

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Outer Limits: Season Six: The Grid

A man investigating the murder of his brother uncovers a mind-control project controlled by a super-intelligent computer.

After encountering a young yet precocious, seemingly well-informed girl, who urges the protagonist not to trust anyone, she thenceforth persuades him to locate his deceased brother's research and use it to immolate the Grid's influence. He does so with her by his side, only to discover that the young girl is the embodiment of the Grid and that it was seeking to acquire the information found in the protagonist's deceased brother's research. With one last effort to extirpate the mind-control of the Grid, the protagonist incapacitates the Grid and consequently the town's citizens. When returning to his home, he gleefully hugs his wife and notices one of the towers, which were situated everywhere in the town, outside his home. His wife then turns around and shoots the protagonist, while trucks enter numerous states with the Grid technology to be shortly implemented.

In my humble opinion, this is the most awful and predictable episode of The Outer Limits.
